We have a strong suspicion she was detained for reasons other than being a spy.

A Russian model and TV presenter has claimed she was held at an airport in America on suspicion of being a spy.

Former Playboy model Victoria Bonya, 37, said she was questioned by officers at an airport in Los Angeles.

She added the officers asked her about Russian president Vladimir Putin and took her aside after they found a business card for a company that produces hidden video cameras in her luggage.

Ms Bonya said: ‘That was a real blow. I thought I was going down and they would deport me.

We suspect Ms. Bonya was detained in the hope she would be going down. Just saying.

‘Instead of asking some real questions the officer decided to talk about our president.

‘Finding out everything about my position, he started talking about the KGB.’

Ms Bonya, who has recently announced her separation from the son of Irish businessman Alex Smurfit, had her luggage scanned when she was detained.

Officials began grilling the blonde bombshell, asking if she was a member of the secret services.

Ms Bonya, who is based in Monte Carlo in Monaco, added: ‘I started laughing, as I really thought it was a joke, until they asked me the same thing for a third time.’

But Ms Bonya claims she finally managed to get away after she showed the officers her social media accounts.

Which are probably now being flooded.
