It’s not enough that 99% of the media is far left and spares no expense slobbering over liberals. Yet when you’re so inept that even the liberal media laughs at you, you come up with cockamamie schemes such as this.
There’s one sure way for Mayor de Blasio to get better press coverage — own the press.
The mayor said he’s open to the idea of the city investing in a media outlet that would cover the city.
“I think it’s a really good question and one that intrigues me and one that I’d be open in seeing the city invest in,” de Blasio said last week during a closed-door Q&A with reporters laid off by local news sites DNAinfo and Gothamist.
“Publicly sponsored, with appropriate grounds,” he added. “The BBC model, not always perfect, but in the best sense — there’s definitely a place for that.”
De Blasio claimed a publicly owned press operation would be more “fair and responsive” and “create more balance” than those owned by “a bunch of rich individuals from multinational corporations.”
Well, Warren, there’s isn’t even a hint of balance as it is, so do you expect your bumbling idiocy would be ignored?
Six weeks after being re-elected to a second term, Mayor Bill de Blasio said he’ll continue traveling around the country to help reform the Democratic Party — insisting his national efforts won’t interfere with his ability to run New York City.
“I can walk and chew gum at the same time,” the mayor told reporters Tuesday before delivering a speech at a fundraiser for Progressive Iowa, a lefty advocacy group.
At the end of the press conference, de Blasio stuck a piece of gum in his mouth and walked away from reporters.
“Now I’m going to do a visual,” he said. “This is gum. I’m chewing the gum now. Now watch this. It’s going to be amazing. I’m walking while chewing the gum.”
Good grief. To think he actually believes he has any aspirations other than stumbling into the NYC’s mayor’s office.
