Well, this isn’t pleasant news.
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) on Wednesday collapsed while running in a race and was taken away in an ambulance.
The Associated Press reported that Tillis was given CPR after collapsing. Tillis and his team were running in the American Council of Life Insurers’s Capital Challenge, a three-mile team race. He tweeted before the race with a photo of his team.
Tillis seemed unconscious at first, but was breathing and revived by the time he was moved to the ambulance, the report said.
A WUSA9 anchor tweeted a photo of the incident, writing that “3 men saved the life of Senator Thom Tillis.”
A number of political figures immediately offered their prayers for Tillis in tweets, including Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) and North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein (D).
