Here We Go: ‘Protesters’ Want to Dig Up Democrat Confederate General from His Grave

These lunatics will not be satisfied until every street, statue, town or memorial to anyone who came from the Confederacy is wiped from the historical record. Acting like ISIS is overplaying their hand just a bit.

A group of protesters who want the body of an alleged Ku Klux Klan leader removed from their city have broken the soil over the grave.

The campaigners claim it has taken officials in Memphis, Tennessee, too long to exhume Nathan Bedford Forrest – who was a lieutenant general in the Confederate States Army.

They also want the statue of the soldier on a horse on the burial site to be removed. The rebel cavalryman, who died in 1877, has been buried in the city’s Health Sciences Park since 1904.

The city’s mayor, AC Wharton, began a push to remove the body and statue in the wake of the church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, but needs approval from several branches of government before he can take action.

Members of the protest group, who call themselves the Commission on Religion and Racism, removed only a small patch of grass from the park, but threatened to return with heavy machinery to tear down the wartime symbol.

Isaac Richmond, the group’s leader, told local station WREG: ‘If he’s gone, some of this racism and race-hate might be gone. We got a fresh shovel full, and we hope that everybody else will follow suit and dig him up.

‘We are going to bring the back hoe, the tractors and the men with the equipment to raise Bedford Forrest from the soil of Memphis.’

That’s sure to do plenty to help the community and you just know the next day there will be something else to complain about. This is never going to stop until every vestige of southern history is obliterated.

And they wonder why Trump won. Historically speaking, Forrest was a Democrat. Does the frothing left even realize that or even ever take a break from their daily outrage to acknowledge that and other indelicate facts?

It was Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Democrat, who founded the Ku Klux Klan.

Woodrow Wilson segregated Federal Buildings and jobs after 50 years of integration under largely Republican administrations.

It was the Democrat Party in the South that instituted Jim Crow Laws.

It was the Democrat Party in the South that instituted “separate but equal”.

It was the Democrat Party in the South that supported the Ku Klux Klan.

It was George Wallace and the Democrat Party in the South that said “Segregation Forever”.

It was Orval Faubus and the Democrat Party that wanted the Arkansas National Guard to enforce segregation, and Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican President, that sent the 101st Airborne to integrate the schools.

It was Bull Connor, a member of the Democrat National Committee, who turned the hoses on the marchers in Birmingham, and it was the Republicans who made up the majority that passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, over the filibuster of such Democrat paragons as William Fulbright and Al Gore Sr. — and Grand Kleagle Byrd.

(And no, the Dixiecrats didn’t join the Republican Party — most of them remained Democrats.)

It was the Democrats who kept Grand Kleagle Byrd in the party.

It was Democrats who called General Colin Powell a “house nigger”.

It was Democrats who called Condi Rice — who grew up with and knew the little girls in Birmingham who were blown up, by Democrats — an “Aunt Jemima” and ran cartoons of her with fat lips doing Hattie McDaniel riffs.

Yes, we remember some of those latter incidents. None of them were condemned by the angry, racist left. So their current feigned outrage is just a bit much to digest.

My wife’s great-grandmother said Forrest was the “meanest white man who ever laid his head on a pillow in God’s Creation.” One of her cousins married one of Forrest’s nephews.

The ultimate irony of all this horrible churn in our society will be, once these fascists are (hopefully) defeated, that the antifa scum will demand statues be erected in honor of their “sacrifice.”
