So what he’s trying to say is that President Trump’s speech will be just like the eight given by Obama and the ones he gives every Sunday to whine about some perceived problem?
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) early Wednesday slammed President Trump’s address to Congress, saying it will be “forgotten in a day or two.”
“He’s given a whole lot of speeches and we’ve seen that the speeches and the reality don’t match,” Schumer told NBC “Today” show host Matt Lauer when asked if he could foresee any areas of potential cooperation between Democrats and the White House.
“I’ll say yes, when he comes up with something that really helps working people and says ‘I want to work with Democrats, here’s my proposal; what’s yours?’”
The top Senate Democrat called the speech forgettable, saying it had a “shelf life” and is unlikely to change negative perceptions of his presidency.
In other words, it’s time to ramp up the fake news attacks and come up with a distraction since the speech was so well-received.
