Fake News Epidemic Continues: Newsweek Says ‘Trump Impeachment Process Set to Begin’

Posted by on Jun 08, 2017 at 7:02 am

As the made-up Trump/Russia nonsense begins petering out, the media is desperate to keep up the narrative that President Trump is somehow going to be impeached. So along comes some rockhead Democrat clown claiming he’s going to file articles of impeachment and this is how Newsweek frames it:

Trump Impeachment Process Set to Begin As Democrat Al Green Files Articles

Which would be all well and good, except nobody in their right mind thinks this matters one bit.

Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas is expected to submit articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump Wednesday in the first legislative step for any congressional bid to force a sitting president from office.

“Obstruction of justice by the president is the problem,” Green said Tuesday. “Impeachment by Congress is the solution.”

Green first officially called for Trump’s impeachment during a fiery speech on the House floor last month. He contends that the president deserves to be removed for allegedly engaging in obstruction of justice by firing former FBI Director James Comey during the agency’s investigation into Russia’s possible meddling in the 2016 election. His appeal came amid revelations of a Comey memo that claimed Trump had asked him to drop an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Don’t you actually need a crime to being this process?

Meanwhile, here’s more fake news from NBC:

As former FBI Director James Comey prepares to provide oral testimony — a written version was just released publicly — to the Senate on Thursday, President Trump’s approval ratings hover between 35 percent and 40 percent.

The 40 percent approval rating in a recent Gallup poll was the lowest for a newly elected president since it began measuring it.

On prediction trading site PredictIt, 23 percent of bettors think Trump will not be president at the end of 2017; 18 percent think Trump will be impeached in 2017.

Based on his time as Indiana governor, a “President” Pence would likely be a by-the-book conservative on tax cuts and deregulation; possibly a hard-line Tea Party member on health-care repeal; less ardent on infrastructure than Trump and more supportive of free trade.

Only 23%, which doesn’t even cover all those affected by raging Trump Derangement Syndrome.

As a fun capper to the morning, here’s fake news leader CNN:

So a leader in fake news is fighting fake news.

Got it.

Oh, and back to Newsweek: They may want to have a chat with one of their “star” reporters:

Remember when the lamestream media said Trump had no chance, Hillary was inevitable, and that the Republican party would be in disarray after the election.
They’ll be working overtime with fake news manufacturing when Comey cooks up a big nothing burger.
