The Hollywood nitwit Will Smith is on a Middle East tour promoting his new film ‘Suicide Squad’ and decided it was a good time and place to hope for a cleansing of people he doesn’t agree with politically. Now just imagine a conservative spoke of his desire to ‘cleanse’ America of Clinton supporters. You know how well that would go over.
During a Dubai press conference for “Suicide Squad” on Sunday, Will Smith took the time to discuss Donald Trump and the growing anti-Muslim climate in the United States.
Smith, who plays sharpshooter Deadshot in the DC flick, emphasized the importance of sharing what it’s actually like in the Middle East amidst the hate-filled rhetoric that’s emerged throughout the 2016 election cycle.
“In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me that’s why it’s important to show up,” Smith said. “It’s like I’m in Dubai and I’m having fun and I’m tweeting and sharing pictures, ‘Hey doesn’t look like they hate me, does it?’”
We wonder if he was an out of the closet gay man whether he’d be having so much fun.
“The Middle East can’t allow Fox News to be the arbiter of the imagery, you know,” the 47-year-old celeb said. “So cinema is a huge way to be able to deliver the truth of the soul of a place to a global audience.”
The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star added he believes it’s important the upcoming election.
“As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good,” he said. “We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”
We get to cleanse it out of our country. Um, how do you plan to cleanse the country of millions of people, exactly? Perhaps he ought to head over to ISIS-controlled territory and lecture them on the cleansing of the Yazidi.
