You didn’t really think a befuddled woman with serious health issues was really in charge of things, did you?
Aides to Hillary Clinton wanted her to appear at a fundraiser supported by George Soros because they believed this would be a good way for the Democratic presidential nominee to ‘make him happy,’ according to hacked emails revealed by WikiLeaks.
The new revelations shed light on the degree to which Soros, the 85-year-old Hungarian-born billionaire and mega-donor to the Democratic Party, had Clinton’s ear.
On October 7, 2014, a top Clinton aide, Huma Abedin, wrote an email to Robby Mook, who would eventually go on to run Clinton’s campaign.
Abedin informed Mook that Clinton was having dinner with Soros.
The aide wrote that she anticipated Soros would ask Clinton to appear at a fundraiser for America Votes, a progressive organization that he backs.
Abedin asked Mook how to proceed, to which he replied: ‘I would only do this for political reasons (ie to make Soros happy).’
For the past couple of weeks, WikiLeaks has been releasing masses of emails from the hacked account of John Podesta, the most senior operative running the Clinton campaign.
Podesta is also closely tied to Soros.
The WikiLeaks emails show that Soros’ top aides routinely communicated with Podesta, conveying the billionaire’s positions on issues ranging from trade to immigration to the Supreme Court.
The emails reveal that Soros aides authored policy papers that reflect their bosses’ thinking on a number of issues – and those positions were then shared with Podesta and the Clinton camp.
Soros is also the money behind the flying monkeys from Media Matters, now in the news for being sued by a former Secret Service agent. Looks like more fun is in store for them today:
