Ha ha ha, good luck with that, you sleazy conman.
CNN reported Monday that both the FBI and the Justice Department’s public integrity unit’s investigation focuses on about $120,000 in campaign donations to his 2013 gubernatorial campaign from Chinese businessman Wang Wenliang. Foreign nationals cannot donate to political campaigns inside America, but green card holders can.
Officials are also reportedly investigating McAuliffe’s role on the Clinton Global Initiative, PresidentBill Clinton’s charitable organization.
McAuliffe brushed off a question about the investigation’s connection to the Clinton Global Initiative. The governor, a longtime friend of the Clintons and the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, served on the board of the Initiative. A Washington Post report from last year found that 120 donors who gave to Clinton charities gave more than $13 million to McAuliffe’s election efforts in 2013.
“This has nothing to do with the Clinton Foundation. This was an allegation of a gentlemen who gave a check to my campaign,” McAuliffe said.
“I didn’t bring the donor in, I didn’t bring him into the Clinton Foundation, I don’t even know if I’ve ever met the person.”
When in doubt, play stupid, a longstanding Clinton Crime Family tradition. By tomorrow, he’ll swear he never met Slick or Mrs. Slick.
Meanwhile, he probably shouldn’t be too concerned about being caught up in yet another Clinton scandal, since the media will largely ignore it. Or if they do mention it, absurdly they’ll label him a Republican.
