‘He is losing his grip on reality’

Donald Trump says he has fired his longtime friend and key adviser Roger Stone amid the increasingly bitter fallout from the billionaire’s comments aimed at Megyn Kelly.

The two combustible men parted ways after Trump boorishly appeared to claim on CNN that the Fox News anchor gave him a rough ride during the GOP debate on Thursday because she was menstruating.

The resulting outrage saw politicians from both sides attack Trump amid a growing ‘bloodgate’ scandal – although Trump claims he was talking about Kelly’s nose.

The spat got him uninvited from a major conservative gathering on Saturday on a day of drama for the campaign – as Stone announced he’d ‘quit’ and took to CNN to publicly rubbish the Trump campaign.

An extraordinary account of a private conversation between the two men also emerged on political website POLITICO.

Stone told friends on Saturday that Trump is ‘losing his grip on reality,’ claims the site . And that ‘he has these yes-men around him. And now he’s living in a parallel world.’
