De Blasio: This Criminal Sheldon Silver is a ‘Man of Integrity’ and Shouldn’t Resign

There’s one standard for Republicans, quite another for Democrats.

Mayor de Blasio said Thursday that he knows Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to be a “man of integrity” and rejected calls for him to step down from his leadership post while facing corruption charges.

“Although the charges announced today certainly are very serious I want to note that I’ve always known Shelly Silver to be a man of integrity and he certainly has due process rights and I think it’s important that we let the judicial process play out,” the mayor said at City Hall.

Weird how he sings a different tune when it comes to a Republican who faced far lesser crimes.

The mayor had earlier called for the resignation of another elected official — former Staten Island Rep. Michael Grimm — before tax evasion charges against him were settled.

Grimm avoided paying taxes on $80,000 of income, about 1/67th what de Blasio buddy Al Sharpton owes the IRS. Silver is accused of taking $4 million in bribes. Grimm should have been fortunate enough to have a D after his name. Worth noting is the prosecutor in this case is an Obama appointee, so you knows things have to be really bad to go after such a powerful Democrat.

    Standards? What standards?

There are no more standards, only Party fealty. Hypocrisy in pursuit of the Party’s goals is required.

The Other Party is not accorded any latitude except that that we allow for Our Party’s purposes.

Summary – there is no Other Party. Long Live The Party!

Kafkaesque Mayorial blabbering. BdB relates to Silver’s criminal behavior and kickback schemes because that’s the de Blaz way. Why else would de Blaz push a 10 story industrial toxic waste dump into a Yorkville residential neighborhood, if he wasn’t getting it from the otherside from the Real Estate Developers and construction unions that run the city. BdB will stay in office and have a fat retirement so long as he keeps the money flowing into his projects. Screwing law enforcement, screwing those who didn’t vote for his sinister, marxist mindset, screwing successful charter schools, etc. Progressive Man of the People, Man of Integrity: that’s BdB. Of COURSE he sees Criminal Silver as a role model who shouldn’t resign. I’m sure he hopes people will say the same thing about him one day when they come to take him away.

It’s important to let the judicial process play out… unless it results in the non-indictment of a police officer, in which case I’ll have my people march in the streets calling for the outright murder of cops.
