The front-runner for control of Britain’s left-wing Labor Party said Osama Bin Laden’s death was a “tragedy,” that left the world a “more dangerous” place, according to a published report.
Candidate Jeremy Corbyn shocked even the most extreme members of the left-leaning party with his bizarre characterization of the 2011 takedown of the terrorist top dog.
London tabloid The Sun said Corbyn made the remarks to Press TV, the Iranian regime’s English-language propaganda channel, in the days after Bin Laden’s death. Corbyn’s camp did not deny the remarks, the paper said.
“Jeremy is a total opponent of al Qaeda and all it stands for,” a spokesman said.

In a clip from the Press TV show The Agenda, Mr Corbyn is heard complaining that there had been “no attempt whatsoever that I can see to arrest him and put him on trial, to go through that process”. He went on: “This was an assassination attempt, and is yet another tragedy, upon a tragedy, upon a tragedy.
