“Whatever choice a woman is making … even if it is a degrading sexual act — is absolutely feminism”

Whatever you say, sweetie.

Slap me around and call it feminism.

The Duke student who is paying for college by making porn once appeared on a notorious “rough sex” website — a move she now calls “feminist” because she enjoyed it.

“I’m an ambitious young woman. I’m a student at Duke. I’m a slut who needs to be punished,” Belle Knox writes in a racy blog for XOJane.com.

In the graphic article, Knox — who will appear at HeadQuarters strip club in Midtown on Tuesday — describes her first experience making a porn video, saying it featured a violent scene in which she performed oral sex on a male co-star.

The scene was feminist, she claims, because she gets pleasure from “painful,” “nasty,” “name-calling-filled” sex.

“Pain arouses me; it just does … I wanted to do a rough porn scene — to take ownership of my fantasies,” she reveals.

“To be a feminist is not to say that everything ‘submissive’ should be rejected … Feminism means I can take ownership of what I enjoy sexually,” she writes.

“Whatever choice a woman is making … even if it is a degrading sexual act — is absolutely feminism,” she adds.

Knox then notes she would “take back” the experience because porn honchos took advantage of her — but that she’s not ashamed of her fetish.

“If I could take back my first porn scene on that notorious rough sex website, I would. But I would not, and I will never, take back my love of kink,” she writes.

She’s got a bright future at Duke. Huge upside: She’s a lot less annoying than Sandra Fluke.

You realize she is describing feminism the way conservatives generally claim it SHOULD be.

Traditional feminism says choosing to be a stay at home mom is not to be looked upon favorably.

Traditional feminism would absolutely NOT say that doing degrading porn is a good thing.

Feminism, actually is, or SHOULD be about women being allowed to make the choices they want. If they want to be a stay at home mom, great. If they want to become a lawyer and work hard to become CEO at their company, great. If they just want to be a nurse or a teacher, great. If they want to put themselves through college doing porn, great.

I suppose you can rail against feminism in any form, but I’m not sure how that’s productive. Or you could support people who want to be allowed to do what they want.

In my view, this IS feminism, the way it should be because you wouldn’t hear shit about a guy putting himself through college doing porn. Feminism, to me, is about breaking down the double standards. I don’t give a shit about her doing porn, or who stays at home, or who is a cold hearted bitch CEO. Live and let live.

The act of “degrading sex” is empowering yet the big, bad porn producers took advantage of her?

So, she’s playing the feminism card and the victim card at once?

    Well done.

Translation: Feminism is entirely self-defined. It is what any woman chooses for it to be.

I had read recently that she actually had an offer of a full scholarship at a different, but lesser, ivy-league college but turned it down to go to Duke. I haven’t seen that report confirmed in subsequent reports, but if true this “lady” certainly isn’t doing this solely for the reasons she states.

I mean, really, if she likes rough sex and wants to get paid to have rough sex on film, I can’t think of why we should be against that. It’s sure as hell a lot better than endless railing against “sexual objectification” and “rape culture.”

She’s also a college Republican and a libertarian. Good for her.

She’s every bit as stupid and self-contradictory as most of her age group. Pump it up with a lot of leftist theory and the kind of psychobabble that only survives in elite colleges and you’ve not a nuclear-grade moron.

Truth is I think she’s an absolute narcissist with an attention fetish.

“Whatever choice a woman is making … even if it is a degrading sexual act — is absolutely feminism,” she adds.”

So, if a woman chooses to commit assault and battery, that would be feminism?
    Murder would be feminism?

Well, I did have arguments with feminists, back in the 70’s and 80’s, in which they insisted that women had every right to commit violent crimes more frequently associated with men, because…wait for it…feminism.

“In my view, this IS feminism, the way it should be because you wouldn’t hear shit about a guy putting himself through college doing porn. ”

    Actually, yes you would.

In fact, if the guy in question was the male performer in the porn video under discussion, he would likely be perceived as a potential threat to the women on campus and be expelled.

I see no reason to criticize this young woman. She’s hurting no one, isn’t a man-hater, and won’t be giving any tedious “rape culture” diatribes to anyone anytime soon. If this is her definition of feminism, well, given the alternatives–Steinem, Dworkin, the female supremacists on Tumblr, etc.–I’m pretty cool with it.

Seems like a sweet, sex-positive, girl. She’s harming no one, and if she self-identifies as feminist, I don’t see why that should be a problem. Tammy Bruce and Camille Paglia use a similar definition of feminism, by the way (though they are two very different women).

“Whatever choice a woman is making … even if it is a degrading sexual act — is absolutely feminism,”

Of course it is. However, your male enjoyment of these acts is another example of the oppression of the patriarchy. Hater.

Then ironing a shirt and cooking a dinner could be a feminist act too. Try it girls, I can’t imagine it to be any less empowering than licking somebody’ balls clean.
