The Top Two Democrats in New York City Gave a Combined $5,597 to Charity in 2013

They’re awfully charitable with your money. In fact they’ll excoriate you and call you greedy if you think you pay too much in taxes. And if you earn too much according to their standards, they want more of your money to use for their crackpot social experiments. Yet when it comes to charitable giving, these two clowns are are incredibly cheap. Actually, we’re being generous by noting the amount as what they gave combined. Mayor Big Bird accounted for all of that. The City Council speaker gave zero, zip, nada to charity.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and first lady Chirlane McCray reported $165,047 in total income last year, according to a copy of their joint tax return released on Tuesday.

Mr. de Blasio, a Brooklyn Democrat, is the first city mayor in 12 years to release a full copy of his tax returns. Mr. de Blasio’s predecessor,Michael Bloomberg, a billionaire who served as mayor from 2002 through 2013, released highly redacted copies of his return that gave scant information about his net worth.

According to the return, the city’s first couple reported $5,597 in gifts to charity, roughly 3% of their total income. The couple received $52,000 in rental income.

Mr. de Blasio’s effective tax rate was 8.3%.

How is it this socialist, who has an unquenchable thirst for your money, manage to pay only 8.3%? Notice these lefties never voluntarily give more and look for every possible loophole to keep their own money.

Meanwhile, this hack City Council speaker went full Blutarsky on her return:

City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, a Manhattan Democrat, reported total income of $128,521 in 2013, according to a copy of her tax returns. She didn’t report any charitable contributions.

Her effective tax rate was 15.9%.

Just pathetic. How much credibility do these clowns have left?

By the way, remember when Mitt Romney said he paid a rate of 15%? You would have though it was the end of the world.
