If you had any doubt Obama’s illegal alien surge wasn’t part of a designed political strategy the latest canard should put that to rest. You just knew it was a matter of time before they started invoking strawmen in their bid to flood the system with illegals. So here we go:
The crisis has prompted Obama to ask Congress for $3.7 billion to stem the tide and call upon state legislators to shelter kids at facilities nationwide.
“I don’t think as a commonwealth that we can turn away and turn our backs to children who are coming from desperate situations,” Patrick said. “My inclination is to remember what happened when a ship full of Jewish children tried to come to the United States in 1939 and the United States turned them away and they went to their deaths in Nazi concentration camps.”
We’ll take this moment to remind them there was a Democrat in the White House back in 1939. Oh, and stop calling the illegals illegal, you racists.
Franklin Soults, communications director for the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, said labeling the children coming across the border as “illegal immigrants” is inaccurate.
“They’re children who are in need of help, who are facing death and gang violence of unprecedented proportions in their home country,” he said in backing Patrick’s call to house the youngsters.
They’re hysterical. Meanwhile, octogenarian Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy also made this absurd analogy.
“I also remind people of a time in the past around World War II where this country unwisely closed its borders to people who were fleeing the Holocaust in Germany,” Leahy said. “They came here, they were turned back, sent back, many of them to certain death in the death camps. That was a sorry part of our history.”
Translation: If you don’t want open borders, you want these children to die. Sure, we can have an adult dialogue with these people.
