Smart Take: Crazy Pants Chris Matthews Says Dick Cheney ‘Created al-Qaeda by Taking over the Holy Land in Saudi Arabia’

MSNBC, where drunken outbursts normally reserved for 3 am are passed off as political news programs. Really, isn’t it time for them to send this lush off to rehab already?

During the final segment of MSNBC’s coverage of Barack Obama’s brief Wednesday night speech — in which the Democratic occupant of the White House called for air strikes in Iraq and Syria to combat the ISIS terrorist group — Hardball host Chris Matthews used the occasion to hammer former Vice President Dick Cheney as the cause, not just of the current president’s problems in the Middle East, but of creating Islamic terrorism as a whole.

So a guy who worked in the private sector for most of the 1990s created Islamic terror. OK, that sounds reasonable. If you just drank a fifth a bourbon and washed it down with a half-gallon of Scotch.

“Please do not listen to Dick Cheney,” Matthews advised Obama. “He’s the one that created al-Qaeda by taking over the holy land in Saudi Arabia. He’s the one that de-Baathicized [sic] the Iraqi government. He created ISIS, and he’s coming back again with more advice.”

One man with such amazing powers that he alone created two separate terrorist groups.

Apparently, Matthews and other contributors on MSNBC have a limited grasp of geography since the U.S. placement of Air Force units was at the Prince Sultan Air Base in al-Kharj, more than eight hours away from the “holy land” of Mecca.

The other MSNBC hosts all agreed (in less explicit terms) that all this was a Bush-Cheney mess, in slightly less fervent tones. Rachel Maddow echoed “The consequences of the war in Iraq was the creation of the group that is now called ISIS. There was no al-Qaeda in Iraq before we invaded Iraq in 2003; that is the group that eventually became this group that we are now fighting.”

Maddow is actually considered the intellectual on MSNBC. Must be the dopey glasses creating the illusion.

Sad that a pair of Depends could have prevented that warm, wet tingly feeling.

Leftists are going for a crazy ride as Obama is shown to be the empty suit and liar we all knew he was six years ago.

Interesting- these leftist chimps always seem to possess history books that don’t go back as far as the late 70’s-

you know, when Carter allowed the Shah to be overthrown in Iran, ushering in ayatollah and his loon crew.

Iran of course being the largest sponsor of terrorism in the middle east since that time.

Yeah, and they’re the “smart ones”.

Dick Cheney must’ve gone back in time. How else to explain the Barbary Pirates’ seizing of American ships and sailors in the 1700s! (But that would mean he’s responsible for creating the Marines, so we should actually be thanking him!)

Were it not for sites posting dreck like this, no one even know this turd said it in the first place.

MSNBC is literally in the asterisk category in Nielson/Arbitron.

And all these years we’ve been told that al-Qaeda grew out of the CIA-funded mujaheedan in Afghanistan in a split off from the Taliban there.

As my flabbergasted 20-something nephew exclaimed: “they just make stuff up!” Yep, I told him, they do.
