Qunnipiac Poll: Majority of Americans Say Obama is Incompetent and Untrustworthy

Posted by on Jan 22, 2014 at 2:09 pm

Well, this ins’t exactly breaking news for anyone paying attention.

American voters give President Obama a negative 40 – 54 percent approval rating, compared to 41 – 53 percent January 8, and 38 – 57 percent December 10, indications that his plunge has leveled off.

But voters give Obama his lowest grades for their top priorities:

Negative 39 – 56 percent for his handling of the economy;

Negative 36 – 59 percent for his handling of healthcare;

Positive 48 – 41 percent for handling terrorism;

Negative 40 – 49 percent for foreign policy;

Negative 39 – 47 percent for handling Iran.

Other than that, everything’s great! Oh, wait…

The economy is “not so good” or “poor,” a total of 77 percent of voters say. Only 28 percent say the economy is getting better, while 26 percent say it is getting worse and 44 percent say it’s the same.

The Obama administration is not competent running the government, voters say 53 – 42 percent. The president is paying attention to what his administration is doing, 45 percent say, while 47 percent say he is not paying attention.

Must be a reflection of him reading about all his scandals in the newspaper. That speaks to lack of character:

The president’s character measures remain low:

46 percent say he is honest and trustworthy and 49 percent say he is not;

49 percent say he is a strong leader and 48 percent say he is not;

51 percent say he cares about their needs and problems and 46 percent say he does not.

Here’s a list of what Americans consider should be Obama’s priorities. You’ll note 1% mention income inequality, 1% gun issues, and 0% for abortion and climate change, all of which are Obama’s actual priorities. No, he’s not out of touch or anything.

    As I have said on numerous occasions; You can’t say Obama’s policies are failures until you know what he is really trying to accomplish with them. Just because he calls a program “The American Recovery Act” doesn’t mean recovery was ever the purpose in Obama’s mind for this utter disappointment. It may have blown a trillion on Democrat croney constituents and managed to hike up the budget base line permanently by said trillion. It may have been an utter disaster for the American people that will continue to cause high taxes and misery to generations unborn. But I suspect it did exactly what Obama wanted.

    Wow, the US is starting to look like the Chicago mafia politics. Who woulda thunk it? Elect a crooked Chicago activist politician and send him to DC.

    It’s like trapping a wolf and bringing it indoors and expecting it to act like a poodle just because of a change of address.

    not gonna happen.

    Now, these majority of citizens represented in this poll need to get off their fannies and vote out more of the dead wood this fall, otherwise the steady slide is just gonna keep slidin faster and faster.

    Millions of people have been treading water since fall of 2008 hoping for hope’s sake that there is something left for them after this SH# storm reign of terror is over. We threw them a bone by breaking up congress across R and D but I think we need more to steady the waters until Barry is gone.

    God help them if shrillary gets in in 2016, their arms might just give out.
