Pearl Jam Clown Eddie Vedder Goes on Ugly Anti-Israel Rant

Posted by on Jul 14, 2014 at 6:57 am

What a surprise to see a liberal icon expose himself as an ignorant buffoon. Shocking, really.

Is Pearl Jam following in Roger Waters‘ footsteps? During a concert held Friday evening at Milton Keynes, England, as the American rock band was performing the song “Daughter,” lead singer Eddie Vedder turned to the audience and launched a monologue which appeared as clear criticism against Israel and the situation in the Middle East.

After leading the audience in singing “no more war,” Vedder said: “So what the f***? What the f***? We can have this many people having a peaceful time. We can have modern technology. We can reach our friends. They know what we’re thinking before we’re thinking it. The advertisers know what we’re thinking before we’re thinking it. We have technology, all this in our hands.”

“’But at the same time something this positive is happening, at the same f***ing time, not even that far away, people are f***ing dropping bombs on each other.”

In what seemed as an attack against the Israeli operation in Gaza and its ramifications, although he did not explicitly mention the Jewish state by name, Vedder added: “And I get if war is the last resort, if they’re coming on you, I can get it, I get it. You don’t want to be in that situation. But I swear to f***ing God, there are some people out there who are looking for a reason to kill.

“They’re looking for a reason to go across borders and take over land that doesn’t belong to them, and they should get the f*** out, mind their own f***ing business… Stop the f***ing sh** now! Now! Now! We don’t want to give them our money. They don’t get our taxes to drop bombs on children.”

Vedder went on to tell the audience, “Eat, procreate, make some art, listen to music, f**k some more, have another baby, eat work, love, love, love… So why are people at war?”

Because the Paleostinians started it, douchebag. They attack civilians, Israel defends themselves. Vedder’s stupidity prompted these reactions:

Vedder’s monologue was posted in YouTube following the concert, sparking many comments from Israelis who saw it as incitement and a one-sided presentation of the situation in the Middle East.

You do realize we left Gaza nine years ago, right? And ever since, we’ve been getting bombed from there every day by the officially-declared-terrorist group Hamas who are holding half a million Palestinian citizens hostage,” one of the comments read.

“Good music-bad person who is obviously brainwashed,” another Israeli added.

    Yo, Eddie.

Nobody gives a flying f**k what an aging hippie moron has to say.

Shut the f**k up and sing. Or not. Don’t really give a s**t.

    P*ss off you mental midget.

There was nothing anti-Semitic about his rant and Israel was never mentioned. The quotes above have been taken out of context by people making propaganda by only hearing what they want to hear. People should learn to get their facts straight before making libellous comments!

This is what I posted on the so-called ‘newspaper’ Jerusalem Post, that published the unbelievably shortsighted and plain stupid article about Eddie’s peaceful words:

How can any self-respecting ‘journal’ turn hardcore pacifist Eddie Vedder ‘s anti-war plea into an anti-Israël plea, and then blame Vedder for it? What is this place here? Jupiter? SHAME ON YOU. I really do hope he will sue this non-journal for turning his beautiful words for a better world against him, just to benefit your own case (exploiting your ‘underdog position’? bad conscience? hypersensitivity?) or whatever might be your reason for blaming him for something he really didn’t say nor mean. Meanwhile I pray for peace for all of you, on every side. If I may. Hope I live to see it happen.
    Pace e bene!

    Dear ‘angrier’,

Why can’t you just listen to any other human being, who actually took the time to listen to Eddie Vedder’s anti-war words: they were just great, as usual, and came from a good heart of a person who just wants to have a peaceful world, for everybody: also for you and your children. Please take the time to listen instead of judging negatively on others.

Live well, and Eddie for president! ;)

Actually, now I took a good look at the article above, and some of the comments.. what is this place anyway? Is this where the people with an iq less than 90 go swear and shout all the time? Great, have fun doing that! Nice! Hilarious, in a way. See ya. Who is “jammie” anyway, not pearl jammie, I guess.. LOL Must be the nephew of the boss, for no other journal would give him an editorial position anyway. Turning around other people’s words, in favor of a juicy article about world’s most famous and best singers. Pathetic, really. I’m the f*ck outta here, this isn’t my country anyway ;)
Well.. cheer up you all, and focus on the positive! :)

All you have done with your article is show your ignorance.

If you have followed or know any of Pearl Jams history you would be aware that Mr Vedder has always been anti war. This should come as no surprise.

At no stage during his words did he mention Israel; and you even confirm this yourself with the following:

“In what seemed as an attack against the Israeli operation in Gaza and its ramifications, although he did not explicitly mention the Jewish state by name, Vedder added: “And I get if war is the last resort, if they’re coming on you, I can get it, I get it. You don’t want to be in that situation. But I swear to f***ing God, there are some people out there who are looking for a reason to kill.”

In what seems as an attack against the Israeli operation…
in what seems… Do you understand the meaning of your own words? Do you understand Eddie’s stance on war from ANY country?
Clearly not, and you would be best researching the content of your articles prior to devaluing them with half truths and assumptions.

Calling someone that only wants peace for the world a “clown”, again, shows your own ignorance and lack of awareness of what Eddie and Pearl Jam are actually about.

What a pointless article full of assumptions and judgements based on nothing!

    For shame.

Palestinians started it… by throwing rocks against rockets, after Israelites stole their land and drove them away? Well that’s one way of putting it..!

    Imagine That — I’m Still Anti-War.
    July 16 2014

Most of us have heard John Lennon sing

“You may say I’m a dreamer,… but I’m not the only one.”

And some of us, after another morning dose of news coverage full of
death and destruction, feel the need to reach out to others to see if
we are not alone in our outrage. With about a dozen assorted
ongoing conflicts in the news everyday, and with the stories
becoming more horrific, the level of sadness becomes unbearable.
And what becomes of our planet when that sadness becomes apathy?
Because we feel helpless. And we turn our heads and turn the page.

Currently, I’m full of hope. That hope springs from the multitudes of
people that our band has been fortunate enough to play for night
after night here in Europe. To see flags of so many different nations,
and to have these huge crowds gathered peacefully and joyfully is
the exact inspiration behind the words I felt the need to emphatically relay.
When attempting to make a plea for more peace in the world at a rock concert,
we are reflecting the feelings of all those we have come in contact with
so we may all have a better understanding of each other.

That’s not something I’m going to stop anytime soon. Call me naïve.
I’d rather be naïve, heartfelt and hopeful than resigned to say
nothing for fear of misinterpretation and retribution.

The majority of humans on this planet are more consumed by the
pursuit of love, health, family, food and shelter than any kind of war.

War hurts. It hurts no matter which sides the bombs are falling on.

With all the global achievements in modern technology,
enhanced communication and information devices, cracking the
human genome, land rovers on Mars etc., do we really have to
resign ourselves to the devastating reality that conflict will be
resolved with bombs, murder and acts of barbarism?

We are such a remarkable species. Capable of creating beauty.
Capable of awe-inspiring advancements. We must be capable of
    resolving conflicts without bloodshed.

I don’t know how to reconcile the peaceful rainbow of flags we see
each night at our concerts with the daily news of a dozen global
conflicts and their horrific consequences. I don’t know how to
process the feeling of guilt and complicity when I hear about the
deaths of a civilian family from a U.S. drone strike. But I know that
we can’t let the sadness turn into apathy. And I do know we are
better off when we reach out to each other.

    “I hope someday you’ll join us,…”

Won’t you listen to what the man said.

Archie Bunker, pinko commies support Jews. Anyway. This rant is entirely out of context as someone already mentioned. So what, now you filthy Jews? Now people can’t even be anti-war anymore because you say war is good and that makes them anti-Semitic!?! Get the fuck out of Palestine right now!!!
G_D bless you Eddie Vedder even though you are an atheist.
