Don’t know how many times this has to be repeated, but no gun laws prevent criminals from getting and using guns.
In the days since two police officers were shot and killed in Brooklyn Saturday, elected officials and religious leaders have focused on cooling the tension between community and police that has roiled the city.
Now Everytown for Gun Safety — which used to be called Mayors Against Illegal Guns — is turning the conversation to gun control, raising the question of how the criminal who executed two cops, Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, was able to obtain a gun at all.
“The brutal killing of two NYPD officers this weekend is an unspeakable tragedy,” said Everytown president John Feinblatt, who served as chief advisor to former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “Our country’s lax and inconsistent gun laws are a central part of the problem. A felon can buy a gun in a state that does not require background checks and bring it to New York, a state that does, and destroy lives.”
The killer reportedly too a bus to New York City. Should we ban buses? The idiot mayor, by the way, is a member of this crackpot fringe group.
De Blasio joined the group last January shortly after taking office.
@shannonrwatts the nra is the real enemy. As we all know.
