Nobody is allowed to enjoy a holiday free of these anarchist freaks.
The Thanksgiving Day Parade was barely under way when about half a dozen protesters were handcuffed Thursday morning after they ignored police officers and tried to march toward the parade route on Sixth Avenue.
Protesters chanted, “Justice for Mike Brown!” and “No justice, no peace!” referring to the unarmed black teen shot and killed by a white cop in Ferguson, Mo.
The protesters marched south from the New York Public Library and turned right on 37th Street toward Seventh Avenue about 9:30 a.m. – but then tried to make a U-turn toward the parade route.
Police officers told the protesters they couldn’t turn around and the agitators started growing angry, leading some to start pushing against police barricades. At least 5 people were cuffed.
“There is no business as usual on Thanksgiving Day because there’s nothing to be thankful for while the cops are killing our children,” said Travis Morales, 62, who massed with about 100 protesters in front of the New York Public Library shortly before the arrests.
Wonder why these assholes feel emboldened?
“Stopping the parade would make such a huge statement,” added a user named Luna Koshka, who added, “We can see snoopy next year. But Mike Browns[sic] mother will never see her child again.”
“We feel empowered. We feel rejuvenated right now,” Senegal Mapry, 18, of Manhattan, said during an earlier gathering at Union Square Wednesday.
“The police are backing down because they don’t want to cause any more riots. If they put their hands on another minority, all-out war will break out.”
Sources said Mayor de Blasio ordered the NYPD to give a free ride to the mobs that blocked the Lincoln Tunnel, Brooklyn Bridge and other major thoroughfares Tuesday night.
“It’s coming from City Hall,” a source said. “We’re being told if it’s only traffic violations, don’t do anything.”
“How times have changed. Under [Ray] Kelly and [Mike] Bloomberg, this would never happen,” said another source.
Thanks, de Blasio!
