Let’s hope that as Australia goes, so does the rest of the world. As the idiot in the White House looks to foist such scams on the American people, those who’ve experimented with this nuttiness have come to their senses.
THE Carbon tax is dead.
After almost 60 hours of debate, the Senate finally passed Tony Abbott’s repeal bills this morning.
A small applause rang through the Senate when the final vote was read out at 11.15am. The bill was passed with 39 in the affirmative and 32 against.
But the Opposition claimed it would keep up the fight for a national emissions trading scheme.
Of course they will. The left never givesw up in its unquenchable thirst for more of everyone else’s money.
The Greens leader Christine Milne accused the cross bench Senators who voted with the government of staining their own political legacy.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott released a statement after the vote, claiming that scrapping the tax was the “foundation of the Government’s Economic Action Strategy”.
“Scrapping the Carbon Tax will save the average family $550 a year. You’ll see the benefits in coming power bills,’ he said.
How dare a leader actually help his constituents save money! The nerve of these people. Meanwhile, let’s give credit to the man who helped Australia step into the new age of enlightenment. The shrieking hysteria to come should provide much fodder for Mr. Blair.
“This is a critical moment for our nation,” she said.
“We will be a global pariah…and a backwater,” Ms Milne said.
“It is also a failure to understand the future will be powered by renewable energy.”
Labor Senator Lisa Singh said before the vote that it would mark a fundamental change in Australia – that it was now going backwards.
“We will not stand with the government. We will stand with the scientists and economists. We are voting for the future of our children.”
Nice to see that across the world they also enjoy exploiting the children.
