Great: Hank Aaron Compares Republicans That Oppose Obama To KKK

Meanwhile, he was cheered last night by a mostly white crowd. Such bitterness from a man long embraced by Americans.

Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan.

Speaking to USA Today Tuesday on the 40th anniversary of his then record-breaking 715th home run, the 80-year-old Aaron said that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance.

“Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron continued: “The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.”

Aaron stated that there is still room for improvement for race relations in the U.S.

“We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron goes on to describe the racist letters he has kept for decades as he was chasing Babe Ruth’s home run record.

“To remind myself that we are not that far removed from when I was chasing the record,” Aaron explained to USA Today Sports. “If you think that, you are fooling yourself. A lot of things have happened in this country, but we have so far to go. There’s not a whole lot that has changed.”

Amazing how so racist a country twice elected a black man as president. But dare to oppose his policies and you’re a Klansman. We’ve lost all respect for this bitter old man. He probably has no idea the Democrat founded the KKK and elected a Klansman nine times as a Senator from West Virginia.

Another boyhood hero bites the dust.

Hank does know that the KKK was a wholly owned terrorist organization of the DEMOCRAT PARTY.

Hank does know that Black unemployment has never been higher than under Obama.

Welcome to the post racial America Obama promised us. IOW it’s race all the time to fool the American public so they don’t notice what a bad job Obama is doing.

Does he know that more young black males die at the hands of other young black males in one year then were lynched from 1884 to 1967 by white racist mobs? Does he know that more black babies are aborted in NYC then are allowed to live?

With these comments, baseball icon Hank Aaron has dropped himself from venerated sports idol to being a bitter, ignorant, bigoted, pitiful old man. It’s truly sad for us more senior folks to read this story.

Aaron equates modern Republicans with the KKK. And there’s no equivocating about it. If Republicans criticize Obama, that’s racist. Modern coat and tie Republicans used to wear white sheets — according to Aaron.

Consider his concluding “proof” that blacks are being discriminated against in MLB:

As an example, Aaron cited the decrease in U.S.-born black baseball players as evidence of modern-day structural racism. Last season, just 7.7 percent of MLB players were black.

“When I first started playing, you had a lot of black players in the major leagues,” Aaron said. “Now, you don’t have any. So what progress have we made? You try to understand, but we’re going backward.”

Pathetic. Blacks are being “replaced” primarily by HISPANICS, plus players from other countries (especially Hispanics, but also Japan). Whites are NOT “replacing” blacks in MLB.

Today the black culture holds talented black football and basketball players in the highest esteem — but seldom extols black baseball players. Black kids get the message early — concentrate on football or basketball — the “black” sports.

Some talented black kids have found that tennis and golf offer more lucrative opportunities — sports that in the past were denied to them, so they might have concentrated on baseball. Moreover, inner city schools simply don’t have baseball diamonds. Nor is there any pressure to provide them.

Black interest in baseball has largely evaporated — a significant concern to MLB. For more detail on how MLB treats blacks, see this “report card”:

As I read these replies and comments about Hank Aaron’s comments, one easily understands why this country’s conservative republicans sure do think what they say and do isnot noticeable and so self evident. If it rains hard and a city gets flood in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, or Missouri, one jerk from the conservative talk-radio will blame it on Obama. George W Bush loses nearly 600,000 jobs during his presidency and spent nearly $700 billion on bailout, Putin invades Georgia, and George Bush does nothing; yet President Obama has created over 8 million jobs during presidency, yet he gets blamed for the same thing that George w Bush did only President Obama did them well and improved the lives of many. Is he getting any credit for them, of course not. who benefits when jobs are created and people are employed? Americans in general. But everything he proposes to further this effort republicans block, and you wonder why people like Hank Aaron could equate the treatment of this president to those by KKK? Just listen to Rush Limbaugh,Rep. Issa, Louie Gohmert, Michele Bachman, Sarah Palin etc etc.. Are these about policy disagreement but ideological vitriol and utter racism? Why are so concerned about the restricting voters all across the states controlled by republicans so they can win elections and make it nearly impossible for those who do not support their hateful agendas are deprived of exercising their right to vote? why? I hate baseball, I hate sports jerks..and this is not about being a sports jerk or an athlete but calling a spade a spade. Overall, in congress and around the country, republicans are the most hateful, heartless people ever. Look at that party and how on earth anyone could belong to such group says one thing..Hating others who don’t think like them must be the qualification

Joe, your ignorance is amazing. Both bush and obama are criminals, I know being a retired police officer. That being said obama is a much, much bigger criminal than bush ever was. Facts mean nothing to liberals like you and aaron. I refuse to even capital their last names. The two world organization that rank world corruption are the world bank and the world economic forum and obama’s administration corruption is much, much higher that bush. Obama is vindictive, vengeful, and evil. At least bush loved this country. The worst thing about radical liberals like you, obama, and aaron is that you don’t care that you’ve destroyed this country for your kids and grand kids, etc. The truth is, facts mean nothing to liberals.
