We’re sure they’ll be as welcome as jock itch.
The influence of former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg will surface near the NRA convention site. His new activist group Every Town for Gun Safety is among three organizations planning a rally to protest the three-day event. Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America also play a part.
“The NRA is coming to town for its annual convention,” notes a public advisory. “When they’re in Indianapolis, the NRA’s leadership will reaffirm its stance against common-sense laws to reduce gun violence. And they’ll double down on making it easy to put guns in the hands of dangerous people. That’s why moms will rally near the NRA convention.”
These people are so duplicitous and impervious to facts and reality. Since when has the NRA ever made it a goal to arm dangerous people? You can explain the real world to them but they simply refuse to listen and prefer to be willing dupes for the tiny egomaniac.
“I know that the majority of NRA members support common-sense laws. They love their kids as much as I love mine, and want them to be safe. But the NRA leadership is completely out of step with its own membership,” Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America wrote in a message to her membership.
“By fiercely opposing even modest steps to keep guns out of dangerous hands, the NRA’s leadership has shown that its allegiance lies with the gun industry – not with its members,” Mrs. Watts continued.
Can they get through a single talking point without the “common-sense” mantra? Nobody’s buying what they’re selling, which explains why there’ll be 80,000 NRA members attending the convention. But just watch, these sniveling twits will get loads of camera time from the media. In fact, the media is sure to outnumber them.
