Yes, Even a Miss USA is Into Online Dating

Something about being unable to find a suitable mate in, er, New York City. Methinks she’s not looking hard enough. Or maybe looking is the problem. Just stand around somewhere for two minutes and plenty of guys will be chatting you up.

While perusing the selection of Lower Manhattan women available on a popular dating app, a friend recently stumbled across a statuesque 28-year-old named Nana, who also happened to be a dead ringer for Miss USA 2012 Nana Meriwether, including the sash.

Obviously, it raised the question of why Meriwether, who handed off the Miss USA crown just three weeks ago, would resort to Tinder, a hot-or-not hookup app that allows users to flip through photos of potential dates and approve or deny them with a single swipe.

But it seems even Trump-approved beauty queens need help navigating the New York dating scene sometimes.

“It’s funny — the guys I’ve said yes to have all been like, ‘Are you real?'” Meriwether told the Cut last week. “I’m like, ‘Yeah, of course.’ Even pageant-title-holders get lonely.”

She’s also on Twitter, of course. We wonder if her future mayor has sent any dick pics?

There’s stuff you can DO that is highly social and likely to bring all sorts of decent like-minded interaction. Various sports and other down to earth physical activities come to mind.

However, if your reality is mostly about primping yourself into a high maintenance beauty queen, good luck at being treated as anything less that a trophy.

I once dated a former Miss Teen (midwest state) that I met like this in New York. Sadly, though, she clearly had peaked as a teenager.

While I’ll allow that I was in Manhattan in December, and only there for a couple of hours, I must say that I didn’t see any attractive women there.

Of course, I am from Florida. And I work at a large, state university. So my idea of “attractive” might be closer to the upper bound…
