Was the Defacing of the Jackie Robinson Statue a Phony ‘Hate Crime’?

The longer this case remains unresolved, the more suspicious we become. It’s been several weeks now since the stature of Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese in Coney Island was defaced, and apparently the NYPD is unable to solve the mystery behind who did it. This is from a week ago and the story has completely disappeared from the news.

The vandals who scrawled anti-Semitic and racist slurs on a statue of Jackie Robinson won’t have the last word, said those in attendance at the monument’s rededication ceremony Monday evening at Coney Island.

The statue of Robinson and his Brooklyn Dodgers teammate Pee Wee Reese has been restored after a swastika and the phrases “Heil Hitler,” “die n****r,” “f**k n****r,” and “f**k Jackie Robinson” were found written on it.

City Parks Department worker Joe Drago spent two days power-washing the statue to remove the words of hate.

Racist language ad Hitler references. Gee, this sounds familiar, as with another high-profile case in the news.

A college student acknowledged posting anti-Islam fliers and racist cards around the campus of the historically liberal Oberlin College earlier this year, saying he meant them as a “joke” to provoke a reaction, according to statements he made after being detained by campus security.

The student also took credit for the display of a large Nazi flag, which he also said he meant as a joke, and posting the face of Oberlin’s president onto a picture of Adolf Hitler, according to the statements contained in an Oberlin city police report.

The student, detained after allegedly being seen posting anti-Islam fliers in the college’s Science Center Feb. 27, denied involvement in other, earlier racist postings and said he was trying to show people had overreacted to them.

The student, whose name was blacked out, said the people who put up earlier fliers were just looking for attention.

Turns out that student who pulled this stunt is none other than a liberal Obama supporter. What a shocker!

One of the two students removed from Oberlin College earlier this year for allegedly circulating virulently racist, anti-Jewish and anti-gay messages around campus  is an ardent leftist and committed supporter of President Barack Obama, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Dylan Bleier, one of the two students, organized a voter registration drive on behalf of Obama before the 2008 election. That voter drive is still listed on the website for Organizing for Action, the non-profit group whose mission is to advance Obama’s agenda.

The Oberlin Police Department identified Bleier and his partner in the spree, Matt Alden, as two of the principal architects of a month-long spate of racist, anti-Jewish and anti-gay messages at the small, private campus.

On his now-defunct LinkedIn page, Bleier noted that he was the founder and president of the Ithaca High School for Obama club. He also identified himself as a member of the Oberlin College Democrats.

Bleier also listed his participation in a group called Ithaca White Allies Against Structural Racism. He joined the group in May of this year, he reported. He said the group’s goal is to “eradicate structural racism in Tompkins County [NY], via forums discussing racism.”

Does anyone know of his whereabouts when the Robinson statue was defaced? Whatever the case, it seems most of these incidents are always staged to make white and right-wingers looks bad and they usually turn out to be exactly the opposite. Considering the resources of the NYPD and the amount of money offered as a reward, we can’t help be suspicious that they really don’t want to find out who did this because they won’t like the results.

“You’re racist, but not showing it – so we have to show just how racist you’d be if you weren’t hiding your racism behind a facade of not being racist – you racist!”

Damn. Think I sprained something there.
