Clearly it must be an enraged Tea Party-loving, Fox News-watching miscreant shooting at a black Santa Claus.
A man wearing a Santa Claus suit was shot with a pellet gun Tuesday morning at a toy giveaway in Southeast Washington.
WUSA9’s Delia Gonçalves said the man was shot twice in the back, apparently from a nearby home, at the 22nd annual Barry Farm toy drive.
Who knows, maybe it was just some kid trying out his new Red Ryder BB gun. Santa, meanwhile, is reportedly OK.
The man dressed as Santa, whose name has not yet been released, was shot in the back with a pellet gun during a holiday toy event in the Barry Farms community of D.C. at about 9 a.m., according to ABC7’s Kris Van Cleave. Two shots were fired from a nearby building — one of which struck the man in the Santa suit, police told ABC7.
Emergency crews transported the man dressed as Santa to an area hospital and he is expected to be OK, according to ABC7. The toy drive continued after the incident.
A man in a Grinch suit filled in for the man in the Santa suit, who had been working at the event for the past seven years, ABC7 reports.
As bad as DC is, it could be worse.
A Russian man dressed as Santa Claus was found dead outside of a house party in the city of Yakutsk on Monday.
The man had threatened people inside the party with a knife, the UPI wire service reported. In order to subdue him, the man was hog-tied by some guests and his girlfriend put her scarf around his mouth to stop him from yelling. They then put him outside.
When the girlfriend returned, the man was dead, UPI reported.
