Vote of Confidence: Hill Staffers Warned Not to Rely on Info From ObamaCare Exchange

Posted by on Dec 12, 2013 at 7:39 am

On the same day the HHS was accused of criminally  obstructing a probe into the disastrous ObamaCare rollout, Congressional staffers being forced into the exchange have been warned not to rely on information from the bungled website. A real vote of confidence there.

Capitol Hill staffers who signed up for ObamaCare through the District’s exchange are being told to confirm their enrollments in person.

An email from the Senate Disbursing Office, obtained by The Hill, warns Capitol Hill staffers they shouldn’t trust the information provided to them by the DC Health Link (DCHL) site.

“It is essential that you confirm your coverage in DCHL through the Disbursing Office,” the email reads.

“Please do not assume you are covered unless you have seen the confirmation letter from the Disbursing Office.”

The warning adds another ObamaCare headache for staffers and lawmakers, who raced this week to sign up on the exchanges to meet the Dec. 9 deadline for having coverage in 2014.

It also underscores a broader challenge facing the online exchanges.

While the administration claims to have met its goal of having HealthCare.gov running smoother for most consumers, back-end problems with the system persist.

That has lawmakers worried individuals who believe they’ve purchased a plan under ObamaCare will discover they never actually enrolled because of a system error.

“Who is going to guarantee that the doctor that sees a patient on Jan. 4 is actually covered for that visit?” Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) asked Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on Wednesday.

All hell is going to break loose come January. Obama and Sebelius may look back nostalgically as these being the good old days.

Obamacare, the gift that keeps on giving. We are going to be hearing stories like this all through next year, as things get steadily rorse, and the Obama lies keep mounting up.

    I’m sure they’ll be fine.

The Obamacare website says they only take 3-6 weeks to get the data to the insurers; who only need 2-4 weeks in order to process and get you started.

So you’ll have coverage 5-10 weeks after December 9th… everything is fine.

I mean December has 3 weeks left… and 4 weeks each in Obamaember and Sebiliusary… you’ve got a week to spare before next year even if it takes the whole 10 weeks.

They haven’t tried to change the calendar to push out next year yet? Don’t worry, they’ll declare it law and part of the original law soon.

** god I hope they don’t they can’t be this egomaniacal and crazy, can they? **

** when they do, I declare myself the demented prophet of the world; and demand tribute **
