Maybe Obama can talk about gun and knife control as he re-enacts Martin Luther King’s speech today. Instead of saying “I have a dream” Obama reportedly will just says “I” a lot.

Three men are dead and a fourth hospitalized after two shootings and two stabbings Tuesday night and early Wednesday citywide.

Most recently in the 3900 block of West Division Street in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, a 51-year-old man was stabbed multiple times about 12:20 a.m. during a fight with a “known offender,” a man, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

Police on the scene said after the victim was stabbed in the chest and shoulder in the street just off the corner of Division Street and Harding Avenue he stumbled around a car parked nearby and collapsed on a sidewalk.

Before falling to the ground the victim grasped a pole outside a store front, leaving a bloody handprint, police said.

Police learned the attacker’s identity from witnesses on the scene and officers were still searching for him but believe he lives in the area where the slaying took place.

A fatal shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the West Englewood neighborhood, the officer said.

The victim was walking on a sidewalk in the 1600 block of West 59th Street when a gunman confronted him on foot and fired shots, hitting the 26-year-old man in the head, said Alfaro.

That man was also taken to Stroger where he was pronounced dead, Alfaro said.

Apparently no white Hispanics were involved in any of the murders, so move along, nothing to see here.
