Ten-Year-Old Brooklyn Boy Disarms Home Invader, Fires Off Shot Before He Flees

We wish this had a more happy ending, as in two dead thugs. But at least this kid wasn’t hurt. Hopefully Emperor Bloomberg won’t prosecute the boy for defending himself.

A fearless 10-year-old fought off two home invaders in Brooklyn last night, disarming one of the men — and then firing a shot at him with the thug’s own gun, cops said.

The brave boy escaped to his bedroom after the two men, posing as FedEx deliverymen, entered his family’s Canarsie home at 5:30 p.m. and ordered two teens to stay in the living room while they searched the house.

One of the men tried to reach into the boy’s bedroom with the gun in his hand — and the quick-thinking youngster slammed the door on him so hard, he dropped the weapon.

The boy picked up the gun and fired off a shot. The robbers then fled, but not before one fired a shot at the kid. No one was hit.

A neighbor said the family owns a business. Two BMWs could be seen in their driveway.

Obviously flaunting such “wealth” in New York is frowned upon by the marauders, making them an easy target.

You have done well. Next we’ll work on target aquisition and sight picture, Grasshopper.

I am glad the occupants of the home are safe and we applaud the boy for doing what had to be done.
I’m glad the intruders are safe also. Not because they “deserve” it but mostly because the boy will not have to deal with having injured or killed someone. That’s a heck of a weight for an adult and much heavier for a child. Better that than injuries to the innocent people in the home, though.
