If you never realized the political media had a pack mentality, look no further than Michele Bachmann’s announcement she won’t be seeking another term in Congress.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) announced on Wednesday that she would not seek reelection to Congress in 2014.

“After a great deal of thought and deliberation, I have decided next year I will not seek a fifth congressional term,” said Bachmann in a video message on her campaign website. “I am confident that this is the right decision.”

Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite, had sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, winning the Ames Straw poll, before falling behind in the Iowa caucuses.

See if you can spot the trend.
Mrs. Bachmann is known for her strong anti-abortion stance and adherence to Tea Party values but her presidential campaign was marked by frequent stumbles and her candidacy failed to catch fire in a crowded field of candidates that included Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas and Herman Cain, who all eventually lost to Mitt Romney.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, a conservative firebrand and a favorite of tea party Republicans, said Wednesday she will not run for another term in the U.S. House.
Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann, who last year ran for the Republican presidential nomination, announced on Wednesday that she will stand down from her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Rep. Michele Bachmann — the tea-party firebrand and former presidential candidate, facing investigations and a daunting reelection race — announced in a video on her website Wednesday morning that she will not seek reelection to a fifth term.
U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann, a former Republican presidential hopeful and an exponent of the anti-tax Tea Party movement, said she won’t run for re-election and may consider future opportunities in politics.
Maybe all female politicians are treated this way. After all, when Hillary Clinton announced she wasn’t returning as Secretary of State remember all those stories about the “scandal-plagued” Clinton leaving?
