Obama’s media palace guard has begun to circle the wagons around their master in his time of scandal. On Monday they all dutifully and hilariously regurgitated the meme about the GOP overreaching (read: doing their jobs) on the myriad investigations, which produced a hilarious rundown of the mind-numbed idiots captured here. Now along comes the hapless leftwing hack Jonathan Alter to promote his new book about Obama and his enemies. You see, Obama is pristine and above the messy Washington fray. It’s all the other folks who are the enemies.
You may recall Alter as the author of the absurd article in the fall of 2011 about Obama allegedly being scandal-free, clearly burying his head in the sand on what back then already included Fast & Furious and the Solyndra debacle.
Now along comes this mealy-mouthed bootlicker pimping his book on the poor, abused Obama, who apparently has nothing to do with anything in the Obama administration. Welcome under the bus, Ms. Valerie Jarrett!
Author Jonathan Alter says White House leadership is disorganized because of a crowded chain of command and he criticized President Obama’s tapping of Valerie Jarrett to head outreach, likening it to a CEO putting his sister in charge of marketing.
“They have a small circle, they don’t have a chief operating officer. Remember what Princess Diana said when Prince Charles had his mistress who is now his wife? She said ‘the marriage got a little crowded, there were three of us.’ Well, that’s what it felt like to people like Bill Daley and Jack Lew, anybody who was chief of staff in that White House. Because there’s a group that includes Valerie Jarrett, Pete Rouse, a small group of other people around the president,” Alter said on MSNBC’s “Hard Ball with Chris Matthews” Monday. “It doesn’t work as well as it should have.”
Alter — whose book, “The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies,” is due out Tuesday — made the remarks in response to questions about why the White House is not as focused as the Obama campaign and who is really in charge. Alter said he wasn’t sure about the lack of focus but said chief of staff Denis McDonough is new to the post, and he said he was certain Jarrett would not have been a better pick for the job.
So what does this say about Obama’s leadership? Is he so incompetent he can’t dismiss these obviously inept people? Why does Jarrett wield such influence? Look, we realize Obama is in over his head, but why is it always someone else’s fault? At some point isn’t he responsible for those who report to him? Apparently not since he’s yet to lift a finger to dismiss all the folks who are currently up to their ears in his scandals. Laughably, Alter’s so-called book in entitled The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies, which we suppose in Alter’s warped mind means Obama is in the center. You can’t possibly fix such cluelessness. Meanwhile, don’t expect to learn from Alter how Obama seemingly was elected through intimidation and fraud (helpfully aided by Mitt Romney’s bumbling), with the mushrooming IRS scandal having plenty to do with that. It’s ironic that the guy who claimed Obama is scandal-free now ignores all the scandals that will consume his corrupt administration. The blinders are on, so don’t bother Alter:
He tweeted that a week ago. How prescient.
The Treasury Inspector General who uncovered the improper targeting of Tea Party groups by the Internal Revenue Service said Monday he was stunned by what his investigation uncovered.
Russell George, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), said the targeting at the IRS his probe discovered was “unprecedented,” and the closest comparison that came to mind was the targeting of political enemies by the administration of Richard Nixon.
“During the Nixon administration, there were attempts to use the Internal Revenue Services in manners that might be comparable in terms of misusing it. I’m not saying the actions taken here are comparable,” he told a House Appropriations subcommittee. “This is unprecedented.”
