Racism, Straight Up: Democrat Campaign Staffers Paid Significantly Less Than Whites

Posted by on Dec 20, 2013 at 9:12 am

Move along, nothing to see here.

Democratic federal-level campaigns are paying minority staffers significantly less than their white counterparts, according to a study from the New Organizing Institute (NOI).

“African American staffers on Democratic federal-level campaigns are paid 70 cents on the dollar compared to their white counterparts; Hispanics are paid 68 cents on the dollar,” writes Ethan Roeder, executive director of NOI.

The study finds that although Republican campaign staffs hire a disproportionately high number of white men, the income disparities between racial groups are not nearly as pronounced as on Democratic campaigns.

Barack Obama’s reelection campaign received criticism during the 2012 elections for a picture of his Chicago headquarters that revealed a lack of diversity; it responded by making a push to hire more African Americans.

Naturally, as a means of distracting people from Obama’s massive failures, Democrats plan to focus on income inequality in 2014.

Democrats worn down by the disastrous rollout of Obamacare are working to refocus Congress on an issue much more favorable to the Left: income disparity, including an extension of federal unemployment benefits and a higher minimum wage.

Great. They can start with their own staffers.

Democrats paying Blacks less than they pay Whites for the same labor goes back to….uh….sometime before the Civil War. And it’s been 150 years since a Republican President said that was not only wrong, but wrong enough to issue an executive order to change it, and go to war over it.
It’s only now making the news?

Republicans can’t hire minorities if they do not want work for them. Most minorities are Democrats. Caught you! Had to put a negative into about the party; however, in this case it doesn’t fit.

    Surprise, surprise! I’m black.

Democrats have been discriminating against African Americans for more than 150 years. There is nothing new here. They have just become more subtle about it. A healthy percentage of Democrats do not respect the capabilities of African Americans, but rather presume that most are akin to “special needs” children in need of extensive government intervention in their daily lives. Why would anyone expect people with these deep-seated biases to promote African Americans to the high-paying jobs with the larger responsibilities?

When will the majority of African Americans realize that the party that brought government-backed Jim Crow has not changed its stripes, just its methods?

If you weight the averages by the number of minorities who vote in each party, are black people really underrepresented? If 1% of all Republican voters are black, it would stand to reason that 1% of all Republican campaign workers would be as well.

You made a categorical mistake here. It simply is not possible to be a racist if you are on the left or are a Democrat. Only Republicans and conservatives can be racists. Jefferson Davis? No, not a racist. Lincoln? Certainly, as he was a Republican. Members of the KKK? No, the were Democrats. Bull Conner? Also a Democrat, so no. George W. Bush, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, and Allan West? Of course, they all must hate blacks and be racists. They’re Republicans, aren’t they?
