O’Keefe Gets Results: ObamaCare Navigator Fired, Three Suspended After Being Exposed in Video

The ObamaCare rats are scurrying for cover tonight after being exposed by James O’Keefe’s video. We can’t wait for the rest of the videos.

The Urban League of Greater Dallas fired one person and suspended three others after a video from a conservative activist reportedly showed the workers encouraging health care applicants to lie.

An edited video was released Monday that seemingly shows so-called health care Navigators encouraging people to lie on forms signing up for health care to get better rates.

The video was released by Project Veritas, which was started by conservative activist James O’Keefe. O’Keefe gained notoriety for videos in 2009 that eventually brought down ACORN and was also arrested in 2010 for attempting to bug the phones in the office of Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu for a different project.

The Urban League said in a statement on Tuesday it “does not condone, nor would we ever sanction, misleading the public or any individual who seeks our assistance about any issue, and particularly in this case, an issue as critical as health care.”

The Urban League said the person fired was a “part-time receptionist trainee” who was not authorized to speak on behalf of The Urban League or act as a Navigator and said it supports decertifying three “Navigators-in-training” in the video.

The Urban League also called for the unedited video of the incidents to be released. It said the undercover applicants were told the people they were speaking to were Navigators-in-training and “the full context of these comments is not reflected in the video.”

These scumbags said the same thing when O’Keefe brought ACORN down in 2009. You’ll note ACORN no longer exists, although offshoots have sprung up to become … ObamaCare navigators. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who’s running for Governor, weighed in today.

“Just as Attorney General Abbott predicted in letters to the federal [health and human services] secretary and Texas insurance commissioner, the Obamacare navigator program is ripe for abuse,” said spokesman Jerry Strickland. “Any program that suggests Americans lie to game the system is a program that is out of control, and out of touch with what taxpayers want and deserve.”

Today, as back in those ACORN days, the media refuses to do the job O’Keefe is doing in exposing this Democratic Party corruption. Instead they snivel about edited videos. Funny how nobody whines when 60 Minutes or other so-called “mainstream media” edits videos. The Urban League hacks, meanwhile, apparently haven’t learned a thing:

“We will not sit idly or silently as agenda-driven individuals operating under false pretenses attempt to undermine our efforts to serve those who need it most.”

As if they don’t have an agenda?

Hmmmmm….. I thought the folks at Veritas had made it their standard practice to release the unedited version with the packaged videos, after getting blindsided by this tactic with the first Acorn video. Wonder why they didn’?

    > and was also arrested in 2010 for attempting to bug the phones in the office of Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu…

No. He was not trying to bug the phones; he was trying to show that the phone lines were intentionally shut off to cut down on the large volume of people calling Landrieu about her imminent vote to approve ObamaCare.

My, how she must wish she had voted against it now.

“The Urban League also called for the unedited video of the incidents to be released.”

O’Keefe has always released full videos, I’d imagine concurrently with the edited-for-time ones. I’d be very surprised if they weren’t in this case. I’d accuse them of being too lazy too check, but that’s too naive. Calling for the unedited videos to be released (even when they’re already out) gives the perception of bias and context-stripping in the editing process, even though the primary concern in editing is time.

    Well, THAT didn’t take long.
O’Keefe is a national hero. I just finished his book “Breakthrough”. He’s got guts doing what he does.

Thank you. The MSM keeps telling that lie and we keep letting them.
