Obama Releases Thousands of Illegal Aliens, But It’s Bush’s Fault

Well, that didn’t take long. Forget blaming Obama for his cynically releasing thousands of illegal aliens in a malicious reaction to  not getting his way on his sequester. As it turns out we can blame Bush.

Move along, folks, nothing to see here.

But Republicans may run into thorns of their own on the issue, as it was under President George W. Bush that the release program — known as Alternatives to Detention (ATD) — first began. Moreover, it was Congress itself that first mandated the ATD program’s initial creation in fiscal year 2002.

According to ICE documents from 2009, the agency launched three ATD programs in 2004 and 2007, which monitor the release of illegal immigrants still in deportation proceedings using a combination of GPS ankle monitors, telephonic reporting, and unannounced home visits. Of the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who have been placed in the programs, less than 10 percent have run away or escaped, according to the 2009 report.

The problem with this spin is there’s no evidence those newly released are under any kind of monitoring. The excuse for releasing them was the Obama Sequester. You can be sure none of them are wearing ankle bracelets of are hooked up to GPS devices. And if this can be blamed on Bush, why didn’t Obama’s spokesclown Jay Carney just say so the other day instead of lying? Meanwhile, the AP put out this whopper last night once the Obama Sequester went into effect.

Why aren’t Republicans screaming that Big Sis be fired for this brazen lawlessness?

Because they are spineless cowards afraid that some reporter might say they’re mean.
