The notoriously media-shy Obamas sat down for an exclusive interview with Vogue magazine, a rare glimpse at the lives of the reclusive first couple. We’re blessed to have these two in our lives even though we hardly ever get to see the personal side of them. Thank goodness these two hooked up, otherwise the impeccably punctual president would have trouble keeping things on schedule with his busy schedule of partying and golf.
So while the president might look like America’s debonair leader, it takes an executive order from Michelle for him to put his coat on a hanger.
“And what Michelle has done is to remind me every day of the virtues of order,” the chief executive said. “Being on time. Hanging up your clothes. Being intentional about planning time with your kids.”
Being on time? Hmm. Let’s have a look at how well that’s been working out.
Wait, what? We thought he was always on time? Surely this must be a one-time thing, right?
Let’s see: Obama Budget to be Late Again.
One has to wonder why they could produce a budget — not that it was worth the paper it was printed on — in 2009 during much more difficult fiscal circumstances. It was the only time during Obama’s presidency that a budget was produced by February 4th, the legal requirement under the 1974 Budget Act.
So his budget is now late four years in a row? Not that big a deal, we suppose, since during his failed presidency he’s gotten a total of zero votes for any of his so-called budgets.
Now this lateness couldn’t carry over to any other duties, could it? At least he’s punctual for press conferences.
He can’t even show up on time for those. Even his recent “charm offensive” is late:
Well, we did find some late things he’s always on time for:
He’ll keep the public waiting months for a budget, but is always on time for David Letterman.
Oh, there’s one other late item he’s a big fan of:
Has he ever been late for a tee time?
One thing we never seem to get an answer about: What really happened to the late Chris Stevens in Benghazi?
