Law and Disorder: Hapless Obama Announces Arrest of Dangerous Illegal Aliens He Let Go Last Week

So Bammy, how’s that sequester temper tantrum working out for you? You’re a national punchline after closing the White House tours and frankly should be facing impeachment for unleashing dangerous criminal illegals out onto the streets in a cheap, cynical political ploy.

The Obama administration said Thursday it had rearrested and brought back four of the most dangerous immigrants it released from detention last month in the run-up to the budget sequestration.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton testified to Congress that his agency released 10 “level one” offenders, and has gone out and apprehended four of them. He said the other six are nonviolent.

How he claims knowledge they’re nonviolent escapes us. How would he know?

Mr. Morton also acknowledged that overall, 2,228 immigrants were released — far more than the several hundred the agency had initially acknowledged. Of those, 629 had criminal records, though Mr. Morton said they were low-level offenders.

The releases have drawn a stern rebuke from Republicans, who said it showed mismanaged priorities. They also said ICE’s concession that it released far more immigrants than it first acknowledged dents the agency’s credibility.

“Today’s ICE testimony directly contradicts repeated assurances and explanations peddled by the Obama administration in the days after the mass release of illegal aliens became public knowledge,” said Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. “The American people were initially told there were hundreds, not thousands, of individuals released. We were assured they were low-level detainees of little public risk. As we now know, neither of these claims was accurate.”

Lies, to use another word. As childish as the cancellation of White Hours tours was, it seems quite possible that was done as a distraction from this far more outrageous action.

Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican and one of those who wrote demanding answers, said Mr. Morton didn’t clear up very much.

“Why was the secretary of Homeland Security not aware of the release of convicted criminals by her own agency? Why did she tell us it was only hundreds who were released when we now learn it was thousands?” he said. “This is evidence of serious mismanagement at DHS under Secretary Napolitano.”

Mr. Morton said his choice was between maintaining 34,000 immigrants in detention or furloughing ICE agents, which he said would curb the agency’s other areas, such as investigations of drug or child pornography cases and money-laundering.

This government has credibility? Who knew?

How much money and manpower did it take to rearrest them? Was that amount less than what it would have cost to simply keep holding them? (Duh, no.)

So Mr Morton, who already admitted that his agency can’t fucking count or accomplish its mission (keep known violent people from hurting more people) knows with certainty that costs demanded the choice that they made? He couldn’t get the damn head count right; how can he believed that he can get a budget right!?!

Lying to Congress used to be a crime. He should have been marched into his own detention facility and then supeona the next guy. For fun, they can do a two-way video feed of Mr Morton sitting in one of his own cells.

Your choice was to maintain illegal immigrants in detention, or furlough agents? That’s it? These are the only two things that you spend money on? You do not spend money on anything else at all?

I call major BS on that one.

What you just told us is that the entire purpose of your very existence is your LOWEST spending priority.

    You cheap little toady.

    So here’s a tidbit from DHS’s budget “priorities” for 2013;

“Immigrant Integration: The FY 2013 Budget includes $11 million to continue support for
USCIS immigrant integration efforts through funding of citizenship and integration program
activities including competitive grants to local immigrant-serving organizations to strengthen
citizenship preparation programs for permanent residents”

So we let go thousands of people illegally in the country who were arrested and represent a threat to our population rather than something like this?

I call bullshit on the entire bunch of liars. The DHS budget is public record. If you dig through it, your head will explode when you see some of the so-called priorities they could have cut instead of turning loose criminals to harm our citizens.

it would have been nice to know what state or area they were released from so that the people they were unleashed on could be on the look out for them

(U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton testified to Congress that his agency released 10 “level one” offenders, and has gone out and apprehended four of them. He said the other six are nonviolent)

in other words we have caught 4 of the 10 level one pit bulls that were unleashed on the people of the united states. but the other six level one pitbulls that are running free are harmless. thank you

Exactly. They belatedly realized that this outrageous stunt went too far. And if one of them committed another violent crime on the loose, it might upset the dear leaders’ plans for imposing amnesty or gun seizures from legal owners.

The kicker is that these men were in jail for crimes far beyond just being in the country illegally. We’ve seen ample evidence that the crime of being in the country illegally is not enough to keep them incarcerated under this administration.

No, these people are in jail for committing worse crimes. So these are criminals in more than just the sense of crossing the border or overstaying illegally. These people are potentially dangerous, thieves, etc.

This is like taking money out of the bank then depositing it the next day while declaring “If I keep this up, I’m going to be rich.”

How about DEPORTING all these criminals and sticking Mexico with the bill for it. Mexico should have enough money to pay for it considering how many people like to go to places like Cancun for vacations. Maybe not the Obama’s per se, oh wait, where did their one daughter and her friends go for Spring break that one year???

Despite his claims of ignorance it was Obama that gave the order to release these illegal alien prisoners. He started releasing them before the sequestration became effective so it really had nothing to to do the theoretical reductions. He continues to act like the spoiled self-centered brat he is by closing the WH to tours and limiting them at the archieves. Even with those minuscule cutbacks which are more to hurt the public than save money he still plans his Easter egg role for the families of congression members and staff. If one republican participates in this slap in the face of every citizen they should be ostrasized by their constituency.

I think a couple of these newly released illegal criminals ransacked my neighborhood this past Saturday in the middle of the afternoon. Ringing doorbells, trying the doors, going around the house to try back doors. Yes, they were seen, a license # recorded, sheriff called. Seems they got away.
