Latest Obama Sequester Hysteria: Women, Minorities Hardest Hit

Posted by on Mar 05, 2013 at 8:22 am

If anything, these people are predictable. But since the media is so eager to regurgitate any idiocy coming out of their mouths, why change the playbook?

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus said Monday night that the $85 billion in cuts to federal spending known as the sequester will disproportionately affect blacks and other minorities, in part because they are more likely to work for the government.

“Sequestration will impact everyone, but it will have a particularly harmful effect on communities of color who were hit first and worst by the great recession, and have yet to significantly feel the effects of the recovery,” Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) said Monday.

So they suffered from the recession, yet voted for Obama again overwhelmingly. Why do I not feel any sympathy. This is what you asked for, now you’ve got it. Deal with it.

Lee was joined by Del. Donna Christensen (D-V.I.), who agreed that cuts to public sector jobs would hurt blacks disproportionately.”African Americans are more likely to work in the public sector, where the jobs are going to be cut,” she said. “We already have the highest unemployment, and will be severely hurt by the reduction in unemployment benefits.”

Take it up with Obama. The sequester was his idea in case you weren’t aware. Oh, and try not to live you lives as government dependents. At some point the spigot is cut off.

Gee, I guess that means that Obama is a racist and hates “communities of color”. I kinda doubt that the narrative will include that.

I knew this was coming. Blacks make up almost 20% of the federal workforce , 12% of general population and about 10% of private sector. I am predicting a lawsuit form the Justice Department to stop the sequester based on disparate impact. I wish I was kidding but this is a very real possibility, especially with Holder/Obama in charge.

It’s outrageous that ANYONE in government should feel the effects of this Great Recession. Job loss, salary reductions, furloughs, reduced hours–those are for the greedy and evil Private Sector!

I am a bit surprised, though, that a small decrease in the rate of increase in federal spending is going to cause such job loss and chaos. I wonder what might happen if they just froze salaries at their present level. Still chaos, I’m sure.

The people who are most likely to lose something in the sequester are those most dependent on federal spending. Good reason to minimize one’s dependence on federal spending.
A few people are genuinely unable to fend for themselves. It seems to me that their families should be the ones who see to their needs rather than reaching into the pockets of other families. Such people should also be the subjects of compassion and charity — voluntary compassion and charity.
It’s popular to say that women and minorities have been held back by the white patriarchy. Problem with this theory is that minority families were actually closer to middle class before the welfare state than they are now and the women who are poorest are those who left the patriarchy behind and had children without forming a nuclear family.

rock on, I as well feel no compulsion what so ever to keep them from themselves. In the past have deluded myself in thinking to be a good Christian gal must stand up for x,y z. Nobody ever would have called me a namby pamby but the last 6 years have removed any scales that were left upon my eyes. It has not been an easy adjustment and am in no way perfect. It will sadden and confuse
me why some do not at least try to seek what God wishes for each of us. Well there it is they don’t. So be it.
( thank you for fixing that back up spell fix was major pain in rear )

This effects ppl who didnt vote for Obama too! I don’t depend on govt for my life style..however, all the increased costs of food, gas, etc… are crippling!!!

  7. MT Geoff on 5/05/13 at 2:26 pm

@#6: teb, the rising costs of gas and food are entirely separate from the sequestration. Other federal policies have pushed up costs for our daily essentials; if anything, the sequester might relieve some of the pressure of other government programs on pricing.

Any increase in costs and anything that happens is the fault of George W. Bush and his sulphur smell.

The Treasonous Criminal Zerobama regime is waging war on the American People. This satisfies the Constitutional definition of Treason.

You serfs will be punished until you comply with the desires of Your Overlords. Get the Message. The Dictator and his Criminal Accomplices will inconvenience, will punish, and will terrorize the American People to enforce compliance. Meanwhile, Zerobama will enjoy his golf outings with celebrities, Empress Moo will dine and travel in fine style, and your Senators and Representatives will live in the lap of luxury. Shut up and eat your cake.

The People will comply, or they will suffer.

Unless we Rise Up and put the Criminal Regime on a short leash. Otherwise, shut up and eat your cake.
