Imagine visiting a relative at a Boston hospital who was a victim of Monday’s bombing, only to discover one of the monsters who did it is also at the same hospital. Talk about mixed emotions.
At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, there is a significant police presence while Tsarnaev is being treated following his capture last night in Watertown.
Members of the Boston Police Department, state police, and hospital security stood guard as TV crews hovered in a small park across the road to keep watch. Tsarnaev, who is in serious condition, was under armed guard at the hospital.
Sandy, a Plum Island resident who declined to give her last name, was at Beth Israel this afternoon to visit her husband, who had surgery earlier this week.
“I’m not happy he’s here,” Sandy said of Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge. “But keep him alive. We want answers.”
Don’t we all. Meanwhile, life returned to some normalcy this afternoon at Fenway Park. Check out Red Sox slugger David Ortiz addressing the crowd.
