Facebook for Dummies: “I’m an instructor at Hunter College and this weekend, I engaged in sexual intercourse with one of my students”

Can’t anyone keep their mouth shut about anything. OK, so you’re banging one of your students. What compels you to go brag about it on Facebook?

University administrators around New York are scrambling to contain college Facebook “secrets” pages, where students and instructors alike are flocking to talk about academic sins — including teacher-student trysts.

“I’m an instructor at Hunter College and this weekend, I engaged in sexual intercourse with one of my students,” reads one anonymous post on a page titled Hunter Secrets that was set up for the Upper East Side CUNY school.

“I did have a bit of guilt at first but that guilt has gone away. I’ll just end this by saying that it was the hottest sex I have ever had.”

On NYU Secrets, an instructor fretted about his forbidden lust.

“I’m a Teaching Assistant at NYU and I have a crush on one of my students,” the post reads. “I don’t know if I should tell her now or wait for the term to end since it might cost me my job.”

With competition for applicants fiercer than ever, administrators are concerned about the image projected by the online confessionals.

“Administrations monitor them, the kids are looking at these pages before they go to the school’s Web site,” said one communications staffer at a Manhattan college. “Anything that affects a school’s brand or its perception — especially with so much competition for applicants — is going to be a serious cause for concern.”

Gee, you think?

Affirmative action is to blame for the cheapening of the quality of education and of the quality of applicants who decide to pursue careers in teaching.

And yet, if you asked these academia nuts what they think of sex week, they’d be the first to cheer it on. Or cheering on the Black Panthers. Or vilifying the US military.
