Despite Meaningless New NY Gun Laws, Two Shot Dead in The Bronx

It didn’t take very long to show that the useless gun laws rammed through by Andrew Cuomo and the weak-kneed New York State Senate and Assembly mean absolutely zero when it comes to fighting crime. Do these morons really think criminals are going to obey their laws?

The NYPD say two people were found shot dead inside a car in the Bronx.

Police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in front of 3328 Perry Ave. just after midnight. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman unconscious and unresponsive inside a parked car.

Both victims had a gunshot wound to the head.

They were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

That’s just one incident. Every day all over New York City and the state criminals ply their trade undaunted by meaningless laws. But hey, the pols get to preen for the cameras and pretend they give a shit. The news laws have all sorts of holes and will do zero to prevent crime.

But you already knew that.

As he signed the bill, Cuomo scoffed at the idea that restricting magazine sizes won’t make the public any safer. He said curbing magazine size from the old limit of 10 bullets to the new limit of seven reduces “the capacity to kill lots of human beings in a short period of time.”

It didn’t make those two dead guys any safe, did it?

I’m not entirely sure what a smaller magazine size is supposed to do to reduce crime (or gun violence). I’m sure most people can reload that thing quickly enough to continue killing and a couple more seconds added to reload time isn’t going to stop mass murders.

Even if they were going to go all the way and remove guns entirely from the civilian population, gun violence isn’t suddenly going to go away. It’d take at least half a generation for it to even begin having an effect (Australia being a prime example of this).

I have a feeling Cuomo is short. It sounds like littleguyitis. Shitbags such as he usually have some quirk or shortcoming which makes them say and do the things they do.

Aside from this tragedy, many people want a firearm for self-defense. The theory goes that if we got all the guns away, people wouldn’t need them for self defense. But of course some intruders will use knives or bats as weapons and these intruders can often overwhelm their victims. “God made men, but Sam Colt made men equal.” And women and occasionally children.

    Howdy DUH
Nor with voters — if we’d quit voting for STUPID, things would improve.

    @ DUH

    YES YOU CAN!

And the answer is VOTE THEM OUT!

The reason these idiots can do these things is because they keep getting re-elected by fools.

    Howdy friends
Via Instapundit and an update link, I’ve seen the 23 executive actions that Obama is apparently considering. All of them fall within appropriate jurisdiction. Most of them consist of doing what is required already. A few of them have abso-rutery nothing to do with firearms safety or reducing crime. None of them, none at all, are relevant to the issue of mass public shootings like Sandy Hook.

MT Geoff and Some call me…..Tim,

A politition is not corrupt when elected but a politition, under the pressure of the wealthy is more likeley to become corrupt.

This is not about the laws. Its about protection. Protection of power and control.

A little here and a little there will go un-noticed but to take all at once will create caos.
