Democrats Plan to Run Pro-Gun Candidates in 2014 Battleground States

While you may consider this rank hypocrisy, we have difficulty believing there are any true pro-gun Democrats considering the recent  hysteria over gun control.

Democratic leaders are wooing staunchly pro-gun candidates to run in pivotal Senate races at the same time they are discussing a strategy for bringing gun control legislation back up for debate.

The two-pronged effort has prompted Republicans to accuse the Senate Democratic leadership of hypocrisy, but Democrats say it is simply smart politics. The question is whether two of the Democrats’ most promising potential candidates in Montana and South Dakota will pay a price for the leadership’s political maneuverings in Washington. Or will recruiting candidates who do not support President Obama’s gun control agenda have any effect on Democratic fundraising efforts?

We await the Democrat ads where they say their own members want kids to die because they don’t support gun confiscation efforts.

Brad Dayspring, the communications director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, took a swipe at Democrats for playing both sides of the gun issue.

“Washington Democrats preach gun control, but are recruiting adamantly pro-gun candidates like Schweitzer & Herseth-Sandlin. Can’t be both,” he posted on Twitter.

Of course it can. They’ve been having it both ways on pretty much every issue imaginable. That’s what happens when you have a state-controlled media.

A great bumper sticker: “GUN CONTROL – a Democratic party core value.”

    What could they say?

I fear the usual consequence in those western states. The Dem. candidates will say their pro-gun. The Repub. candidates will make a stupid remark that the press will amplify and the Dems will use in attack ads. The will elect the Dems. They will then vote the party line and raise their taxes to boot. And the voters of these state will then say WTF?

    It could work!

They ran all ‘deficit-control’ Democrats in 2008 and look how well they did.

This is yet another benefit of owning the MFM. Sanford is (rightly) castigated for his poor judgement. Any gun control scheme by the Dems should have died the day Biden advocated firing shotguns through closed doors and off of balconies.

Is this where I go to get me a huntin’ license?
They may not have anything that will look like a “pro-gun” candidate to anyone who knows anything at all, but what they will have is candidates willing to lie their buttocks off about it, a media that will refuse to report facts or context, and a whole bunch of registered democrats who will either go along with the lie or are too stupid to know any better.

A pro-gun Democrat is rather like an abortion clinic worker who has “problems” with some procedures. In the end, they’ll do what the doctor orders, in order to keep their jobs.

The moral is that the only thing that matters is who’s giving the orders. And in case nobody has noticed, in the Democratic party, those are the people who think gun owners are best served… with Fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Re: Joe Manchin in West Virginia; not everybody is as gullible or just plain stupid as the electorate there. Democrats will lie like a rug about gun control or anything else to get elected and then impose a socialist agenda in direct opposition to their promises. Typical Bolschevic tactics.
