Cuomo to Alter Radical Gun Law to Provide Hollywood Exemption

Posted by on Feb 28, 2013 at 8:24 am

Forget the law-abiding gun owners who’ve seen their Second Amendment rights eradicated. Andrew Cuomo is looking at the big picture and how he can get himself some of that Hollywood money when he makes his White House bid. Why care  about the people that pay his salary when he can suck up to the Hollywood elites?

Just a month after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the strictest gun control law in the country, state officials plan to make some exemptions.

The law toughened restrictions on military-style rifles and high-capacity semiautomatic handguns, but those restrictions will be changed so those types of weapons can be used on the sets of television shows and movies being shot in New York.

“We spend a lot of money in the state bringing movie production here, post production here. So obviously we would want to facilitate that,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo said the prop firearms used in films would probably not be classified as an assault weapon.

“But people want certainty and there’s no reason not to make a change like that,” the governor added. “Apparently, they have blanks or they have phony magazines or something.”

He should know about phonies.

Did that jerk Cuomo get his miscreants in the NY state legislature to “fix” their violation of the 2nd Amendment to make sure policeman on the job aren’t arrested for violating their new “law”?

They say that’s part of the “fix” they’re implementing, Steve, along with the Hollywood thing.

Meanwhile I’d encourage any / all of my fellow New Yorkers with guns to do what I’m doing in two weeks: move to Texas. Why pay exorbitant taxes to a government that hates and fears you when you can live tax free under one that actually wants you?

Oh this TOTALLY makes sense. We must keep handguns and AR15s out of the hands of normal people. You know, the people who have a limited capacity to make good decisions and can’t be trusted not to break the law.

But let’s include an exception for Hollywood, because they’re all upstanding citizens such as Robert Downey Jr. and Roman Polanski.

Hey, just because Polanski banged a 13 year old’s squeakhole doesn’t mean he’s some kind of monster does it, wingnut?
