CT Rep. Wants to Publish Names of Gun Owners; Plus, Aptly Named Senator Looney Proposing Ammunition Control

You would think these idiots have heard about the blowback in neighboring New York counties by now as to how well publishing the names of gun permit holders has turned out. Really, the only time you ever hear from these anti-gun nut Democrats is when the propose asinine legislation like this in the wake of an isolated incident. Otherwise these useless turds do nothing to promote the public interest.

Lawmakers across the state are taking on gun control issues in the aftermath of the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown on Dec. 14.

State Rep. Stephen Dargen, a Democratic legislator from West Haven, wants the names and addresses of about 170,000 handgun permit holders in the state to be made public.

Names of gun owners are now confidential, but Dargen believes if people know how many guns are spread across communities, they’ll be safer.

State Senator Martin Looney, of New Haven, is proposing ammunition control legislation, which would prohibit anyone barred from owning a gun from owning bullets or any other kind of ammunition.

“A gun without ammunition is only a club. We really need to restrict access to ammunition,” Looney said.

Surely the next time someone is clubbed to death we’ll have to restrict ownership of clubs. For the children or something.

Well, since Rep. Dargen is all about the public’s right to information, a commenter helps out:

One of the nice things about living in my area is that a “list of gun owners” and the telephone book are almost one and the same.
