Chicago Celebrates Dr. King’s Legacy With Multiple Shootings on South Side

Apparently the Democratic Party rally in Washington Wednesday didn’t send the right message to the marauders in Obama’s hometown of Chicago.

Three males were wounded in separate South Side shootings since Wednesday afternoon.

The most recent shooting happened in the Avalon Park community when a man in his 30s was shot in the chest about 8:05 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Avalon Avenue, police said.

The man was in serious condition on the scene, but hospital information was not immediately available, authorities said.

Earlier, a man was wounded in a McKinley Park neighborhood shooting.

Two males on bicycles approached an 18-year-old man standing in the 3700 block of South Honore Street and one of the cyclists shot the man in the upper chest about 5:25 p.m.

The fun all began, ironically enough, just as Obama was speaking during the afternoon. No guns are yet in police custody.
