Always Grateful Michelle Obama on Life of Luxury in the White House: “There are prison elements to it”

Posted by on Jul 02, 2013 at 8:02 am

Maybe this explains why she’s always vacationing on our dime. Being in “prison” must be so harsh. Well, if this life of luxury has “prison elements” to it, why not just move out? A nation will thank you.

Michelle Obama and her predecessor Laura Bush appeared together Tuesday at a summit on promoting the role of African first ladies in bringing change to their countries and spoke about their lives in the White House.

“There are prison elements to it,” Mrs. Obama said.

“With a chef,” Mrs. Bush interjected.

“It’s a really nice prison,” Mrs. Obama said. “You can’t complain.”

So why is she always complaining?

Update: Our friends at Twitchy are having some fun with this:

It’s a really nice prison,” Mrs. Obama said. “You can’t complain.”

    And yet, she did.

Some women look good in black, some women look good in jeans, some women look good in high heels and short skirts.
Moochelle would look stunning in prison.

Presidents and their families have made similar comments back to George and Martha. There’s a lot of truth to it. The White House is not their home, only the family quarters — luxurious, yes, but still restricted. More to the point, the family’s movements are tightly controlled and everything they say or do out of the quarters is photographed, video’d, and scrutinized. Spontaneity is hard to come by.
It goes with the territory but it’s not the fun part. I dislike Mrs. Obama but I won’t carp at her for this remark. It’s just the most recent among First Ladies.

Boo Freaking hoo! Seriously?!!! Moochelle is a bitter, spoiled, entitled brat. Her mother (who obviously did such a great job with her) has been raising her kids, she has a staff of over 20 people to do her bidding, she is constantly spending our money going on vacations, junkets, and stuffing her fat pie hole while people in America are truly suffering. What a horrible, ungrateful, bee-yotch! Unbelieveable!

“It’s just the most recent among First Ladies.”

So what? It is a lame, whiney statement. We should think more of her because it is trite as well? The first ladies with class don’t complain, the ones without it do. I am a slave to my house. I owe too much to be happy, but I own too much to just let it go. Yet I am happy there. Just weird I guess…

MTGeoff — Moose hated it so much she stayed right alongside her commie husband as he campaigned for a SECOND four years in which to fundamentally transform Amerikka.

Laura v. Michelle. What a perfect comparison in class and a servant’s heart versus arrogance and self absorption.

True, all residents of the White House have complaints about it basically being so restrictive, yet, no resident has every complained as much as Mooch while wasting so much taxpayer money on a 1%er lifestyle.

If Robin Leech still had his “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” program he’d have at least a monthly episode just for Barry and Mooch.

    MT geoff logic:

prison = luxurious but still restricted

    in other MT geoff logic:

raid on Pearl Harbor =being interrupted whilst reading the Sunday comics

being run over by a tiger tank in the battle of the bulge = ski vacation gone bad.

It’s a really nice prison where you spend gobs and gobs of other peoples money and get to go wherever you want whenever you want and eat, drink, and party-hardy whatever/whenever with whomever you want.

Yeah, it is EXACTLY like prison, said no prisoner ever.

  11. coyotech on 2/02/13 at 11:52 am

Prison is where you go involuntarily if you commit a crime. The White House is where you commit crimes and spend millions to get to. She and B.O. worked hard for that gilded cage and all those trips and luxuries. They’ll be set for life even if he got impeached. Whining is just another luxury for her.

The term “prison” has been used metaphorically for the presidency since its inception and for the White House since Abigail Adams hung her laundry in the East Wing. I didn’t accuse Mrs. Obama of being classy, I just noted that her complaint stretches through history and has some basis. In what way am I mistaken?

  13. Kerrie-Sue on 2/02/13 at 1:02 pm

A prison that pays 4 her $100,000,000 vacations. Cry me a flip pin’ river.

    1. Prison is involuntary.
    2. John and Abigail Adams furnished the house they lived in.
    3. She used the term, “prison elements”, not restricted.
    4. Good luck finding Michelle hanging laundry.
    5. Abigal didn’t ride Air Force 1.
    6. She is a woman in the 21st century. She has the ability to leave any time she wants, and to where she wants. Ya think that anyone is going to tell her that she MUST be any where? Care to name one person stupid enough demanding that she MUST be there, at dear leader’s side? Are you game to try? ya think that any of the beautiful people are “restricting” her? Mazeltov.
    7. The notion that the Lightbringer’s perky spouse is in any way, shape or form, a prisoner is utter bupkas. How can they possibly lower the ocean levels from a prison cell?
    8. The likelihood of her being force fed are, unlike her, slim.
    9. Funny how no one refers to a sgt. in the USMC or a sailor on sea duty has having “prison elements” to it. That nagging volunteer aspect tends to obstruct things.
    10. College students tend to be treated in a similar vein. In both cases, their work hours and off hours are restricted, and subject to official scrutiny.

Ya think that dear michelle wants to swap out a hot bunk on a boomer or in Camp lejune? Or any public university?

She was part of the 1% before Mr. & Mrs Lightbringer winged their way to DC. She is still part of it now, and on the public dime. She can book any time she wants, and will rest easy afterward.

By her standard, any hollywood celebrity is guilty of armed robbery and is serving out a sentence as we type.

It’s impossible for the Obamas to be more oblivious about their true place in the Universe.

I wonder how Me-Chelle would feel if she were the Queen of England, who has proudly served her country for 60 years and never put a foot wrong?

Even this Canadian is disgusted by the Wookie’s remarks. Americans should be seething!
