ADAM Scott has become the first Australian to win the Masters, delivered in breathtaking fashion in a sudden-death playoff at Augusta.

Scott secured victory on the second playoff by holding a five-metre putt after Argentina’s Angel Cabrera narrowly missed his birdie attempt on the par-4 10th.

Bidding to become the first Australian to win the Masters, Scott sunk a seven-metre birdie putt on the last hole in regulation play to shoot a closing three-under-par 69 and finish at nine-under 279.
