This is twice in the last two days we’ve seen this absurd “reporting” on how this radical leftwinger is now “comforting” people. First yesterday, in an effort to distract from his abominable basketball efforts, Yahoo churned out this shameless propaganda piece designed to show what an awesome guy Obama is.
Taking a turn as comforter-in-chief, President Barack Obama on Monday consoled a 5-year-old boy, distraught after losing his Easter egg roll, with a hug and a kind, “Shake it off.”
He should take his own advice. After he humiliated himself on the court did you notice how he stalked off? Now curiously on the same day we see yet another item calling Obama a comforter-in-chief. Do they really think anyone is buying this crap?
Joshua DuBois is not your ordinary pastor. For the past four years, the 30-year-old Pentecostal minister was the spiritual adviser to the leader of the free world, praying with President Obama in the Oval Office and leading the administration’s outreach to faith-based groups.
“He’s a deeply faithful president and didn’t need a whole bunch of help cultivating that faith,” DuBois said of Obama in an interview with Power Players on his term as director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. “I would say that he has a daily Christian walk, in terms of his reading a devotional and spending time meditation-meditating on scripture each day.”
You cannot be serious. Deeply faithful? A daily Christian walk? Where, on the golf course? Seriously, they can’t possibly think anyone is falling for this drivel. Amusingly enough, the same folks would be screeching about the separation of church and state if we read about a Republican’s so-called daily Christian walk. It gets worse:
While some critics have questioned the depth of Obama’s religious convictions, DuBois described a president who sees spiritual practice as extending beyond the confines of scripture and traditional religious rituals. Obama “considers spending time with his daughters and tucking them in at night… being a mentor and friend to so many and comforting the nation in times of need” as everyday manifestations of his Christian faith, he said.
ABC News should be embarrassed. Maybe they are since this clip has mysteriously disappeared.
Update: As suspected it’s a coordinated effort courtesy of the Obama image machine.
It’s all courtesy of the Obama image machine, serving up a stream of words, images and videos that invariably cast the president as commanding, compassionate and on the ball. In this world, Obama’s family is always photogenic, first dog Bo is always well-behaved and the vegetables in the South Lawn kitchen garden always seem succulent.
Clearly they’re concerned with his plummeting approval ratings.
