I wonder if he had a hoodie on when he was “talkin’ trash” like this.
Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari emphatically recounted his recent meeting with President Obama to Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, joking that the commander-in-chief was more relaxed and at ease than he expected.
“I’m expecting him to come back and be like, ‘Thank you for your time, here’s your photo,’ that’s what I’m expecting,” Ansari said on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” “This is what happens instead and I’m not exaggerating. He comes back, is like ‘Oh, snap it’s The Roots! What’s goin’ on yo? You guys are like my house band, you guys are at every event.”
The always humble Obama took the time to remind this guy he’s got more followers on Twitter. That apparently is the signature achievement of his tenure in office now that ObamaCare is likely destined for history’s dustbin.
At the event, Obama had poked fun at the comic during his speech.
“I just want to remind him: I’ve got more Twitter followers than you, man,” Obama said at the donor event. “I just want to keep him humble and hungry. We all need someone who does that; fortunately, I have Michelle.”
He’s got Michelle at least. Well, when she’s not on vacation, which seems to be most of the time.
Ansari can really relate to how cool Obama is. Can’t we all?
While the president’s “cool” demeanor took the comedian by surprise, Ansari said he could relate.
“This dude acts the exact same way I would act if I was the president,” he said. “Just walkin’ around, talkin’ trash, crackin’ jokes.”
Problem is nobody’s laughing.
