Slanted WaPo Poll: 54% Disapprove of Failed President’s Handling of Economy

The amazing part of this is it’s not at 100%. Some folks are just beyond hope when it comes to dealing with reality.

Mitt Romney is leading President Obama on the economy in a new poll released late Monday.

More people disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy than approve, according to the new national poll from Washington Post/ABC News. The poll finds that 54 percent disapprove of the job Obama is doing on the economy, while 44 percent approve.

The economy is expected to be the key factor in the election, with 53 percent in the poll rating it “an extremely important decision,” a larger percentage than on any other issue polled.

Asked who voters trusted more “to do a better job handling the economy,” Romney earned 49 percent compared to Obama’s 44.

Romney also leads on a question about handling the federal deficit, 52 to 42 percent.

When you consider how slanted the poll is, the numbers should terrify Team Obama. Of respondents only 24% call themselves Republicans, with a full 60% listed as Democrat or independent.

Full poll here.

Another fun nugget:

While most Americans continue to disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy, that’s not his only problem. More than half fault him on health care and immigration as well. Sixty-three percent say the country’s headed in the wrong direction, an unhelpful view for an incumbent. And among groups, he’s losing swing-voting independents by a record 14 percentage points.

Note that the numbers are equally bad for “All Adults” and “Registered Voters”…. and there are no “Likely Voters” numbers at all.

With polls like this example and Obama’s retreat on the decade old Bush tax cuts [really a tax increase, but for another comment string] — his internal polling must be brutal . . . so, maybe Romney can run a defensive strategy . . . . ?

What I found interesting is that the poll had Obama and Romney tied, but Democrats had 9% more voters than Republicans did. Among independents, Romney lead 53-39 percent. Things do not look good for Mr. O.

But, Romney (something something) rich (something something) Bush’s fault (something, something)… HEY LOOK, SQUIRREL!

Romney has beat Obama for two consecutive months in fund-raising. Gee, I wonder why?

P.S. I’m sending another check to the Romney Campaign today. ;)

The good news is, we can add the Washington Compost to the looooong list of racist organizations.
