Let’s see: Black woman points gun at white politician. Must be racist. Bet your last dollar that would be the story angle if the roles were reversed.
Yet oddly, this doesn’t seem to have merited national attention.
A Georgia woman was arrested over the weekend for pointing a gun at U.S. Congressman Trey Gowdy from the 4th District of S.C., the authorities in Spartanburg said.
Gloria Yvonne Brackett, 52, from Jonesboro, Ga., faces one count of pointing and presenting a firearm and one count of unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to Spartanburg Public Safety officers.
On Sunday night, Gowdy was sitting in his pickup truck in the parking lot of First Baptist Church on East Main Street when Brackett, carrying a black handgun, approached the vehicle, pointed the gun at the congressman and told him to stop following her, the police said.
According to the report Gowdy told woman that he wasn’t following her but rather waiting for a family member to get out of church. Brackett, police said, again told the congressman to stop following her.
After attempting to explain himself a second time, Gowdy put his truck in reverse and pulled away, but police said Brackett chased him on foot. Gowdy was never injured.
Naturally, the super-sleuths at the Puffington Host find there’s something more sinister at play here.
These people can cancel out your vote. Think about that.
So the police are “big government” now?
